Incredibly, Williams' murder was the second drive-by shooting of a pro athlete in Denver in less than a year.
Not so "incredible," considering today's athletes.

Denver should close ranks against the ILLEGAL & CRIMINAL gun culture that endangers the city's streets.

There, that's more like it.

I've never understood why libs think that people willing to break laws against murder are going to be deterred by laws against having a gun.

I'll bet one my paychecks the the criminal who did this was a fellow "brother" taking shots at a random "rich" limo to teach some cracker a lesson...

"Denver should close ranks against the gun culture that endangers the city's streets."

The gun culture?

What about the hip-hop culture? The drug culture? The gang culture? The club culture? The black culture?

"Police couldn't say for sure whether an earlier altercation at Shelter was related to the shooting."

Uh-huh. I'm betting that Mr. Williams dissed the wrong person.

"Williams' murder a cowardly gun crime"

No, it was a cowardly gangsta crime. Had the perp instead killed Williams by running him down in his own car would the author have written about "a cowardly automobile crime"? Obviously not. .....unless the auto in question were an SUV, that is.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

There is no 'gun culture' problem.

The problem is the.... Thug Culture, the Rap Hip-Hop Culture, Gang Culture and excusez-moi the Black Culture (deal with it pc hand wringers).

And the 'culture' that if someone bumps into you, instead of saying excuse me, or pardon me, you start talking trash about being 'disrespected' (what kind of word is that anyway?).

And the 'Culture' that every Black Pro Athlete needs a 'posse'. Tony Dungy 'went off' about this while at Tampa Bay about some of his players and was then summarily fired.

So NO, it's not a 'gun culture' problem. It's a problem foisted on 'us' by p.c. liberals who refuse to call a spade a spade, and a thug a thug. These 'athletes' should be playing in Sing Sing or Statesville, not Denver or Chicago.

>>>Denver should close ranks against the gun culture that endangers the city's streets.<<<

How about closing ranks against black thug culture? The fact that black thugs have guns is the least of it. They are dope selling, thieving, uneducated criminals who are glorified in American media culture.

Guns are just the tools of the trade.

Denver should close ranks against the gun culture that endangers the city's streets.

Close ranks against criminal game fixing, drug dealing, gambling money and prostitution.

Is it me, or is there an awful lot of gun-grabbing going on lately? I keep reading one after another.

This happened in a very nice area of Denver. Not where you expect such a shooting to occur.

Clearly the argument in the club led to this killing.

Pathetic to say the least.

The vast majority of lawful gun owners never commit any crimes. And who's to say you're not allowed to defend yourself.

Colorado is a shall issue CCW state but I don't think that has anything to do with the Denver shooting.

Was it a legally registered gun?

If not, it is just more babble by the clueless...

The more "civilized" society becomes, the more it seeks to dissociate itself from the consequences of its actions that produce bad results.

Warfare has been with us since the earliest tribes sought to usurp their neighbors' bountiful resourses, usually after exhausting their own, and, in all that time, the more inventive among the members have worked to design weapons that separate the wielder from the wounded.

From spears to stones to boiling oil to bows and arrows and finally to ballistic weapons and ICBMs, the goal has always been to put more distance between the assailant and his bloody enemy.

Gangs, in our modern society, take the place of tribes in insular, ancient societies whose knowledge of rivals was limited by their lack of imagination and mobility.

Drive through any urban neighborhood and you will see the tags on every corner, often crossed out and reclaimed on a daily basis; there is no reason to it just primitive dominant instincts, the lowest order of motive known.

Of course they'll use guns first as long as there is one gun available, and if or when the last gun has been confiscated, they will make their own or resort back through the list like a trip back in time until they arrive back where the tribes all began and even spears will be laid down and the warriors will revert to hand-to-hand combat with strangling and clubbing being the methods of choice.

Take away all the tools, and all you have left is the naked savage.

I'd call it a thug culture enabled by a liberal mindset that blames everything but the obvious for all that's wrong in our society.

I guess the author would have been OK with it, if the perp had just thrown a Molotov cocktail into the limo?

Or would we be hearing about the Molotov Cocktail Culture.

What if it had been an adherent of the ROP, and he had just blown his own vehicle up alongside? Would we be hearing about the "Bomb Culture"? I know we'd not be hearing about "Islamic Culture" or "Arab Culture".
