They don't hold weddings in that part of the National Cathedral. There's a special chapel downstairs for weddings, and funerals of regular folks. If you want to be married there, the chapel fee (as of 2000) is $5K for a half hour service!

Chapels can be very nice!! Perfect for a wedding, I think.

My daughter was married in March 2005 at the "Small Chapel" at St Albans School, on the cathedral grounds.
We were able to use the Bishop's Garden for photographs and the cathedral itself was looming in the background. With the cherry blossoms in full regalia, it was a perfect setting for a wedding. She (daughter) teaches at St Alban's, so the fees were negligible. The refectory (lunchroom) at the school served as a most fitting place for the reception as well. Have not heard yet if she attended the service today.
