My daughter was married in March 2005 at the "Small Chapel" at St Albans School, on the cathedral grounds.
We were able to use the Bishop's Garden for photographs and the cathedral itself was looming in the background. With the cherry blossoms in full regalia, it was a perfect setting for a wedding. She (daughter) teaches at St Alban's, so the fees were negligible. The refectory (lunchroom) at the school served as a most fitting place for the reception as well. Have not heard yet if she attended the service today.

Sounds beautiful !!! Congratulations to you and to your daughter and her husband. There are few buildings in the world more impressive than the National Cathedral, and DC in Springtime is as pretty as any city in the world. Plus, you had the added bonus of a direct connection and the intimacy of the chapel.

When my kids were little, we lived relatively nearby and it was a wonderful place to take them for an afternoon walk. To this day my 20-something loves to go there and soak it all in.
