SAN FRANCISCO -- The Golden Gate Bridge is open again to pedestrians and bikers after a hours-long closure earlier today.
Highway Patrol and San Francisco police officers closed the bridge after a small group of peace protesters tried to march across the span.
CodePink, an anti-war group, planned to walk across the bridge around noon today. The group, with members gathered at both ends of the bridge, was stopped by officers.
After about three hours, officials arrested CodePink leader Medea Benjamin and a handful of other protesters for trespassing.

Thanks for posting.
The most exciting aspect of the antiwar organizing has been its global reach. While in the anti-corporate globalization movement, we had already formed impressive ties with grassroots movements overseas,
Using computers and the internet... created by those eeevil corporations.

Wow, I never noticed the resemblance between Truman Capote and Bob Hope.Bob Newhart, maybe. To me that lady looks like Paul Schafer with hair thirty years from now.

"But hey! She can hang with "the beautiful people" by going to these protests."
Socialists are all ugly. Beautiful people have better things to do than hang out with losers like these.

Well done summary of the Medea Benjamin menace.
This idea she has of dismantling the U.S. military and closing all our bases around the world -- can anyone top that for sheer stupidity?
No, but her game of fronting for "peace" makes her a lot of money and gets her in front of the cameras, which are apparently her primary motivations.

Good Lord! Or should I say, "lard"???LOL!! At least her loose winter t-shirt over layers disguises somewhat the Vesuvial quality of the Uncontained Explosive Devices on her chestal area, to which we were treated last spring when she showed up outside the Walter Reed hospital to gross out all passersby with long pit and leg hair as well as environmentally unsound overbreastage issues. Don't get too close! Guard against concussion if she swings around suddenly!
