How long till we stop writing "'06" on our checks, Mr. Speakah? How many more checks will have the wrong year on them? Not sure if Howie is live today; I have a hunch it's a best of, or a fill-in. We'll find out at 3.
I was thinking of getting my Dad The Brothers Bulger but I didn't think he'd like it, since he's on the lib side and prob. hates Howie. One of my brothers got it for him, though, the audiobook version. My dad will be 86 next month and is having trouble seeing (cataract operation on the way). I showed my Dad how to work a portable CD player so he could hear the book --"those buttons are so small, the 'play' one and the 'stop' one; can't they just have a big huge green button and a big red one?"
He also objected to the book's title, the 'terrorized' part. After all, Billy Bulger's a good Democrat, right? 'It makes it seem like he was a part of it.' Just read, er, listen to the book on CD, Dad, and you'll find out...
Will he do a death pool today (if he's in) or tomorrow?
We know Gerry Ford was on it. Maybe James Brown, too. People have tried to put Saddam on it but I believe he wouldn't
let them.
Article about the Black Rose in yesterday's Herald:
"Irish gangsters also were often found sitting on one side of
the Black Rose bar for Sunday nights of traditional music, while FBI agents sat on the other side."

AP & Ch 7:
Burlington group gathering signatures for 9-11 ballot question
BURLINGTON, Vt. -- City voters likely will be asked whether the state's congressional delegation should demand that the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, be investigated again.
The group is circulating petitions to get the question on the March Town Meeting Day ballot and already has 1,200 of the 1,350 signatures needed, said Marc Estrin, a Burlington writer and musician.
Burlington would be the first city in the country seeking another investigation, according to Estrin.
The group has set up a Web site explaining the shortcomings of the 9-11 Commission report, said Doug Dunbebin, a video producer and former city councilor.
The question is likely to get on the ballot because the City Council agreed in September to put questions on the ballot if enough signatures are gathered, although wording might be modified, said Jo Lamarche, city elections director.
Petitions have to be filed by Jan. 29, but Estrin said the signature drive would be done before then.
Estrin said that because the 9/11 attacks led directly to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the American people deserve an objective investigation of what happened.
In a news release, the group said the ballot question "does not advance any particular alternative theory" about what happened on 9/11, but "focuses on the need to get answers to hundreds of questions" raised by families of victims and others, including "members of the intelligence community."
Howies guest hosts are enough to make me flip on NPR.
LOL! Even the Boston Globe hates Billy Bulger! Wait -- I guess that means he can't be all bad . . . ;-)
Who's that over Howie's left shoulder in the doctored pic? :)
LOL... no one can butcher the English language any better.

Even it howie's in tomorrow, I kinda doubt he'll want to do the death pool the day of Jerry Ford's funeral.
I have to figure it won't get done till Wednsday.
I say Monday, when most people are back from the holidays.
Here's some selections from the last list.
1. Gerald Ford
3. Castro
6. Tammy Fay Baker
7. Farrah Fawcett
12. Ariel Sharon
14. Robert Byrd
28. Dick Clark
I'm going to say
1. Castro
2. Tim Johnson
3. Farah Fawcett.
That's of course, Harry Reid and the Cubans don't send Johnson and Castro, respectively, to the beds flanking Ariel Sharon....
I don't know that he's he on a deathbed or anything
, but I got steamed when listenin to WMAL,
I'd lose the last segment of Levin to the Paul Harvey update.
Yes, true...and again, not sure that Howie will be in today. He prob won't but who knows...
Yeah , but I'm not into bowl games, so it's not like I have anything else to do!
I'm not sure but there may be another case of Howie getting pre-empted on WRKO by the Celtics on Martin Luther King Day
(happened last yr)...and yup, just checked--2 pm game on 1/15/07. Yikes! Well maybe you can hear it on WCRN two weeks from today...
It's a best of show today...'that means pre-recorded'
