'I watched Saddam die' [Details!]
The Sunday Times (UK) ^ | December 31, 2006 | by Marie Colvin

THE knock on the door came just before 6am. Saddam Hussein’s executioners were disguised with black balaclavas.

He spent his last minutes yesterday in the sordid bowels of Iraqi military intelligence headquarters, once home to his own torturers and killers.

Just as the dawn call to prayer was beginning over the city, he was led, shambling in leg irons, to the scaffold to pay the price for his crimes against the Iraqi people.

“We took him to the gallows room and he looked like he wondered what was going on,” said Mowaffak al-Rubaie, the Iraqi government’s national security adviser, who saw him die. “He looked at the gallows not believing what was going to happen.”

[big snip]

“He said, ‘We’re going to heaven, and our enemies will rot in hell’.

“When he was taken to the gallows, the guards tried to put a hood on his head, but he refused. Then he recited verses from the Koran. Some of the guards started to taunt him.”

The guards chanted the name of the Shi’ite firebrand cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. “Who is Moqtada?” — Saddam sneered.

“A cleric who was present asked Saddam to recite some spiritual words,” Haddad said. “Saddam did so, but with sarcasm. These were his last words, and then the cord tightened around his neck and he dropped to his death.”

Great, I'm so happy that the guys high enough in the food chain in Iraq to off Saddam are mookie lovers. Really puts a cherry on top of the whipped cream that is the cluster*uck created by our politicians. When is that Iranian sock puppet mookie gonna get whacked?

I have it on very good authority that he said- "Wait a minute; Annan, Livingstone and Clark said not to worry! I am supposed to be set free and returned to powURKE!!!!"

That is disturbing. Apparently, the guards believe Mookie's their man. It's bad news that Mookie's a rock star in the inner sanctum of the Iraqi government. I fear we have won a battle but lost the war (in Iraq).

You have a keen insight into the way things are shaping up in Iraq.

"Yet more "last words" from Saddam. I'm going to start making a list of all his "last words." Some of these "witnesses" have to be lying."

Some more last words from an unofficial source who claims Saddam's very last words were, "Bungee cord! Right?"

Lat & Lon?

I wish I knew. North of Baghdad. I'll bet they're not saying specifically where the burial site is.

I have friends who work at Camp Speicher and they're going to try to find out, but this may end up being the best kept secret in Iraq.

Then again...

but this may end up being the best kept secret in Iraq.

Well then probably the best thing to do is to just 'water' the entire town of Tikrit from about 1500 ft AGL out the door of a Blackhawk.

Would it be considered 'insensitive' if somebody collected buckets of it, managed to get it in the air, and then accidentally kicked it over as some enterprising air crew was winging their way over Tikrit?

You better check on that, just in case it ever happens.

Wouldn't want anyone to get yelled at or anything.

Another Iraqi based butcher responsible for ordering the murders of American and British troops, who should have been with Saddam.
