Warning.
This is the video.
Click on the link above.
Post some pictures when it is done!
I believe the heart is an involuntary muscle. I read that after a hanging, the heart may continue beating for up to 20 minutes. But, if done properly, loss of consciousness (if not death) is instant, because it snaps part of the brain stem.
Thanks.... my first thought was... when I asked my hubby if it was on tv... he said, "do you want it to be?"
And I said, "actually, yeah. I want to make sure it's real. That it's not some ploy."
If I feel like that, thousands of miles away... imagine how so many Iraqis feel.
As a "true christian" huh ?
Newsflash I'm one too and that lad getting his neck popped was long overdue and worthy of a celebration.
Congratulations, you fail!
It matched with the Iraqi footage in the beginning. One of the executioners puts the black cloth around his neck, and the translator says he says: "It's to keep your skin from tearing.".
I think it's legit. I think there is more political pressure to show he's still living than to fake his death.
No one else is questioning it....
Hey, I'm logging off for the night, fanfan... Happy New Year! And thanks for the post! Er. ping... and post! :)
Your post reminds me of what someone wrote last night - something to the effect of "as he took his place on the gallows, Saddam's worst enemy switched from George W. Bush to Isaac Newton"!
If the purpose of killing him was to convince the Arab world that he could not return to power,
WHY WOULD YOU FILM THIS ON A CAMERA PHONE OR WHATEVER THE CRAP IT WAS THAT PRODUCED THAT HORRIBLE VIDEO?
That is ridiculously poor quality, and it could easily BE ARGUED that it is fake (not that I think it is) by the powers-that-be. The video does not even really show him dangling at the end of the rope.
Not Saddams opus!
ROFLOL!
The opus posted at #57!
LOL!
Happy New Year, Proud American!
:-)
No kidding. LOL. I doubt my morbid sense of humor poses a threat to anybody except the easily offended. Even then it's their problem, not mine.
God revels in the evil being punished, and so do I.
If I get through this life without bearing witness to another man's death I will consider myself truly blessed.
That's funny, I will just consider you an ethical narcissist.
You precious little thing. Fortunately, there are people who are willing to fight and kill for your freedom even if you are too sweet to do it.
You should thank them....
I shudder to think of just what actions you and people like you are ultimately capable of.
Well, I'm a soldier, so start shuddering....
[... Congratulations, I failed the KOOK TEST! ...]
Dang! You mean I'm just an average FReeper? LOL!!!
Yeah. Check the threads, others are questioning it
but I may have been the first. Just didn't like the
trench coat and the HUGE neck (possible cervical
collar), under the fabric.
I will try to post pix, but I'm not very good at it.
I'm thinking of having a FReeper Open House when it's
finished. My way of saying thank you for helping me
pass the time.
I LEARN so much here.
Nevermind that the passengers all disappeared........
They're nuts and no amount of truth is going to change their minds.
If nothing else, it's the very first execution I have seen. My personal opinion is that all executions should be filmed, and why not - broadcast them live.
And don't give me the crap that executions are too violent to show on TV.
It's a shame when most people die/are killed, but some people need to die. Saddam was one of those people.
I don't see who benefits by faking his death.
There is no real reason. The internationalist left is still against us for it and the muzzies are pissed they did it on Eid al Adha....
It looked good enough for me.
[... explain how a double would have been made to go quietly to his death without resistance...]
The same way they get those suicide bombers to strap
explosives to their chests. Think 70 virgins. This
would be just another form of martyrdom only with a
higher reward. He took someone elses punishment.
Hmmmmm. Sounds like a REDEEMING possibility.
