Warning.
This is the video.

In case no one noticed.....he surely wasn't smiling like he said he was going to. Imagine that.
One consideration: When the neck snaps correctly the spinal cord is also severed, resulting in the deadening of any sensations or the inability for the transmission of sensations either up or down the spinal cord. Thus, I'd think there would be no pain if the hanging is done correctly, and the organs such as the heart would fail fairly quickly as the brain can no longer control anything. Just a thought.
I'm reminded of a biography type show I saw on the evil one, and the one part that really stood out to me.
He was among his peers, and sat on the stage like it was some kind of meeting. As a bit of time went by, one by one, names of men in the room were called, and they were escorted out, and taken to slaughter. These poor saps didn't have a clue what was going on. Saddam just sat up on that stage laughing and joking, business as usual.
It brings me a bit of peace to know he's somewhere quite warm tonight. Very warm.
Looks like he's balancing a stack of bialys on his chin! Oy vey!
Looks like the real deal.
Only because FR exists.
Lucky us!
"I do not recognize this court."
We need to make it an Oscar nominee...
[...this video is all but worthless as proof (and) offers more questions than answers.
Now I know why Jesus was born during an electronically
primitive time. Eye Witness Testimony is far more reliable.
As we well know, video can be manipulated.
I'm not saying this WAS manipulated, it's just so poor
it leaves me without a conclusive opinion. Now I must
rely on eyewitness testimony.
Like the moon landing and 9/11? Hmmmmm?
Heh!
Saddam's lucky he didn't end up like Thomas "Black Jack" Ketcham...hanged in New Mexico in 1901, there was no experienced hangman in the area, the rope was too long and, well, old Black Jack just lost his head over the whole thing....
OMG! Thank you for the ping.
Saddam looked he was scared $h*tless. I almost.... almost felt sorry for him. From one human being to another, yes, I could feel his fear. OTOH... he caused so much pain, misery and torment--it must be such a relief to so many Iraqis that he's gone and can't hurt them again.
It's sad...beyond sad... that some people are driven to such lengths.
They suspended some of their features earlier today due to high usage.
I'm still waiting for the house to be built, so I'm bored
to tears. Thank the Lord for Free Republic or I would be
a looney tune by now. Oh wait... don't answer that.
Been on every thread there is. The Mods must think I'm a
real case.
As a true Christian, I find your revelry more than a little disturbing.
If I get through this life without bearing witness to another man's death I will consider myself truly blessed.
I shudder to think of just what actions you and people like you are ultimately capable of.
Yeah, ended with a preposition...so hang me.
Goodbye, Freeperville! Enjoy your obscurity.
My neighbor was telling me this afternoon that he doesn't believe it was the real Saddam who was executed. The real Saddam was whisked away to a seaside town in Morocco or Algeria where he will spend the rest of his life in annonymity.
The very roughness of the video convinces me of its authenticity.
Anyone who wanted to stage a video of his execution would also have taken the trouble to produce a high-quality video taken in a well-lit area with crystal-clear audio.
