The Spotswood High School students are researching the Muslim culture and finding out how much no one really knows about this culture that is sometimes is negatively stereotyped by the public.
"What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say Islam?" said Casey Morris.
"Iraq," a fellow student replied.
That's what Casey Morris hopes to eliminate through his research project, the stereotypes the public has about Muslims. Not only will he learn about the culture by wearing traditional Muslim clothing and praying five times a day, but "Also going without pork for 30 days, that's going to be rough but we'll make do," said Morris.
Morris says he is prepared for the criticism that comes along with it.
"Yeah, we're probably going to get some funny looks as we go down the hallway. I'm expecting comments maybe here and there. You know what, I'll be honest, I'll be disappointed if we dont get some," said Morris.
Members of the Muslim community here in the Valley say many people don't understand the Muslim culture.
"Any effort that tries to educate people and increases to their information can turn very positive towards wider benefit of our society," said Zulfiqar Ishaq, a member of the Muslim community.
Morris' goal is to get a big dose of multiculturalism.
"Alan and I will obviously come out of the deal with a great understanding of the culture with great respect and appreciation for the Islamic culture and hopefully we'll impart some of that upon other people too," said Morris.
"What's the first thing that comes to your mind when I say Muslim?" asked Morris.
"Umm, prayer books?" replied a student.
Morris says he and his classmate will start the actual project January 2 and go for the whole month. They will capture everything on video and put together a documentary not only showing what they learned, but the local attitudes toward Muslims as well.
Oh my. Talk about a biased experiment. They've made a lot of assumptions going in.
This kid has alraedy made up his mind to be a young Jihadist. Look for him in a few years to either be carrying a suicide belt or shooting at an American soldier. His parents need to take him in hand right now or he is a goner. Speaking of his parents they are probably liberal idiots.
This
"Let's make some Muslims live as Christians for a month and see what happens."
I have a better idea: let's invite some muslims to live as Jews.
Interesting idea...but first, I'd prefer that some FEMALE classmates of these two clowns be required to try out this 'lifestyle' as a part of their so-called experiment...wearing burkas for the entire month whenever out of the house, of course, and only then in the company of a male family member. Maybe the occasional whipping for being impious or disobedient? How about a simulated forced marriage? Should be a wonderful learning experience for all concerned...
mosquewatch.com....
I say, 'okay', as long as we give them the same degree of cultural immersion in the other culture that's perpetually vilified these days: Serbian Orthodox Christian culture. That ought to either quash the whole project or serve as a sufficient counter balance to Muslim indoctrination that they end up more anti-Muslim than before the project started.
LOL.
I did a quick check of their mission statement and found 3 typos and a whole lot of liberalspeak. Major hurl.
Oppression. Terrorism. Death.
A so called religion that will kill people that don't agree with their take on religion.
A class of people that will kill their own to forward there take on religion.
A class of people that are more evil than the Nazi's, the KKK, the Communists, etc.
"Iraq," a fellow student replied.
'Blood' was the first thing that popped into my mind.

I wouldn't let my kid within spitting distance of this person. Well, maybe.

I'll bet.

As I've said before, I've read the book, and know all I care to know.
LOL, I've got a bridge in Brooklynn I'd love to sell you.....
I don't know about that in the here-and-now, but I believe that's the destination. www.prophetofdoom.net

Knowing that 9/11/2001 was in the name of islam was enough.
No further intellectual curiosity.
Odd, nobody has suggested living as a Christian for that period of time.
I wonder what the first thing would be that would come to their mind if one were to say "Christianity"? Naw, I don't need to wonder. I believe I know the answer.
It is hard to live as a Christian, even for a Christian :(
This "student" is a revolting piece of shit.
