The Drop Broke Saddam's neck killing him instantly. At the executions following the Nuremberg Trials others were not so lucky.
THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY--AND OF ALL TIME, PART TWO
"..The executions, in a brightly lighted prison gymnasium where three looming black wooden gallows had been erected, were witnessed by a handful of Allied military officers and eight journalists, one of whom, Kingsbury Smith of International News Service, wrote a famous newspaper article, "The Execution of Nazi War Criminals, 16 October 1946," based on his eyewitness observations. Although Smith discreetly omitted mentioning it, the experienced Army hangman, Master Sgt. John C. Woods, botched the executions. A number of the hanged Nazis died, not quickly from a broken neck as intended, but agonizingly from slow strangulation. Ribbentrop and Sauckel each took 14 minutes to choke to death, while Keitel, whose death was the most painful, struggled for 24 minutes at the end of the rope before expiring..."
Did you see my "Chairman" ping to you?
I'll be happy to do that when it is available.
*Snicker*
Really? Please thank him for his sevice.
What branch of the military is he in? How long has he been in the military? Is he in Iraq?
Sorry for the questions, and I'm sure your son is a wonderful person, but experience tells me not to believe a thing you say without more verifiable information.
I really don't know for sure - it's just what Drudge is showing
But it looks like it
Yeah finally! Thanks! I answered back! That was funny!
"Pragmatism" is usually another word for shortsightedness, in my opinion. To put it another way, the short term gains that might be gained by the compromise of core principles is usually negated by the much worse long term consequences of that compromise. The evidence? The long term erosion of our constitutional form of government.
Beyond that, it is hard for me not to label folks who regularly attack conservatives as liberals. If they're not liberals, I don't know how to can discern any measurable difference, given their tactics and seeming goals.
No. I am saying that the Hezbullah Maliki Iraqi government would lie about this. I demand proof. Is that wrong?
They've gone on and on tonight about how horrible the death penalty is, how civilized countries and people do not have death penalties and how horrible it is to celebrate Saddam's death. Now, of course, they are discussing how much they would dance and party in the street if Bush was hanged.
Moderates are willing to compromise on their values. That's why they're referred to as moderates. Their lines are blurred. They'll take liberalism in one area to get something else in another. In the end, liberalism has increased no matter how you look at it, and liberalism is always a down hill path. Why help it? It's better to stand up and try to defeat it. When you give them an inch, they spin it into a mile.
All the gays wanted was tolerance, remember?
Abortion was to help one woman carrying a dead or soon to be dead child, remember?
After the depression, the social programs were suppose to stop. What happened? The moderates gave an inch on all these issues, didn't they? The conservatives did not, and even today they're still trying to stop it all. They know it's all going to get even worse because it always does due to "the moderate voter." They cave every time.
I'm looking forward! I am helping give antibiotics to some sick kitties and am not where the TV is at times.
Time for lemonade?
I still feel a twinge of guilt on that I returned home and others didn't.
For years, I thought we should have gotten Saddam and tried him back in 1991, but now after 15 yrs, we finally did and now he is history.

Of course, but if they don't make it through the primaries, there's no one left.
:-)
LOL! I remember it like yesterday........it was all out war.
No, but I'm sure our government would verify it long before our President would issue a statement regarding it.
