Say hi to your son for me, ok? Tell him he's doing a superb job!

I still feel a twinge of guilt on that I returned home and others didn't.

For years, I thought we should have gotten Saddam and tried him back in 1991, but now after 15 yrs, we finally did and now he is history.

I think most soldiers could relate to that "twinge of guilt" you're talking about. Our son is a civilian now but he keeps in contact with his battle buddies on a regular basis. He served for 8 years.

I've thought of how different the future could have been if the UN had allowed us to topple Saddam after Desert Storm. But so it goes....water meet bridge. I never dreamed that some day our son would go to war against the same monster he saw on television while playing with his little army men as a child.

You must be feeling such intense satisfaction tonight knowing that in a way, the mission you went on so many years ago was finished tonight.
