RALEIGH, N.C. Ethics charges filed against the prosecutor at the center of the Duke lacrosse sexual assault case might constitute a conflict of interest that forces him off the sensational case in which a black woman claimed she was reaped by three white college students, legal experts said.
"It's hard for me to imagine how he can be effective as an advocate, with either the court or a future jury, when he has ethics charges pending against him ... concerning his conduct of this very same case," said Joseph Kennedy, a University of North Carolina law professor.

The case should be turned over to the State Attorney General immediately if not sooner. In fact the Attorney General should take the case from him.
I predicted that Pelosi will not allow the Florida representative to take his seat. (that one may not happen, I saw a thread that the courts in Florida have ruled against the Democrat on that case)
I predicted that Amnesty Plus will be passed by both the House and Senate. (and I ain;t happy about that one, not one bit.)
Must have been a fan of "Dead Like Me".

I suspect that when all the dust has settled Nifong will find himself standing there alone, blinking in amazement.
"Where's everybody go?"*
It's not (so much) b/c his "supporters" are black, but b/c they are politicians. Enough said.
Why cant Nifong be criminally prosecuted ?
I heard on Fox that because Nifong is an elected official, he is exempt from following the rules as set forth by the Bar Assoc. I find this almost impossible to believe...but would like verification.
Could be what she was saying all along. Maybe Nifong is just hard of hearing.
she can't claim that she was raped anymore, those charges were dropped, so she was reaped
Nifong needs to have his status adjusted to that of "defendant."
Wow! What a newsday! I just read that Nifong will be hanged in the next few hours and Saddam may get disbarred!!
Or did I get that mixed up?
A trial at this point is fairly doubtful. This has exploded in his face. If by some chance it does go, Fong won't be the prosecutor. The best he can probably hope for is to hold on to his license. Which is also unlikely. I doubt he will be prosecuted which is what he deserves.
Maybe in the real world. But not in NC. Doesn't work that way.
I think the conventional wisdom is wrong and there will be a trial. All the punditry and bar complaints etc. will be seen as inteferrence in local affairs.
That would be a dream come true. But that's probably all it is. If there IS a brightside, I think his life is about to dramatically change.
The NC bar is going after Nifong's ticket. I wouldn't expect that in any blue state.
I don't think it has anything to do with red/blue. This is a huge embarrassment. The NC bar is saving face. I think they're more than willing to sacrifice Fong to do it.
They are doing their duty.
No way. If this hadn't gone nationwide they wouldn't have made a peep.
