Raleigh The North Carolina State Bar has filed an ethics complaint against Duke lacrosse prosecutor Mike Nifong.

That file was likely opened based on a complaint from the defendants through their defense counsel.
"Art Bell welcomes author Graham Hancock who'll discuss the "Supernaturals," beings from other dimensions that offered guidance to the ancients and shaped human evolution."
I think if people would read the file you posted in #109 they will see that this turkey of a DA will be getting more than a wrist slap!
I hope he is rich because after the civil suits he wont be.
I think the state bar is getting more heat than they can handle without looking biased in Nifong's favor by having feet of stone.
If that happened, it would prove that there is justice in the Universe after all.
"On April 19, as reporters were hounding Simeon for interviews, Roberts sent an e-mail message to a prominent New York publicist. "Although I am no celebrity and just an average citizen, I've found myself in the center of one of the biggest stories in the country," Roberts wrote. "I'm worried about letting this opportunity pass me by without making the best of it and was wondering if you had any advice as to how to spin this to my advantage. I am determined not to let any negative publicity about my life overtake me.......Thanks for your time, The 2nd Dancer."
And let us not forget Crystal Gale Magnum - who had no DNA from the Duke Lacross players in her vagina, but DNA from four other different men. She only changed her story 18 times.
She was thrown out of the US Navy after only a few months, but no one know why. I suspect drugs.
And in this corner, the most unethical DA (and a Democrat - surprised?) in US history:
District Attorney, 14th Prosecutorial District
Durham County Judicial Building
201 East Main Street
Durham, NC 27701
Telephone: (919) 564-7100
Fax: (919) 560-3220
This one has a little meat on it, "Another of the rules Nifong was charged with breaking forbids "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation." The bar said that when DNA testing failed to find any evidence a lacrosse player raped the accuser, Nifong told a reporter the players might have used a condom."
The best part of the Complaint is the recognition that "Nifong engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceipt or misrepresentation . . . "
FOX NEWS just a humor segment at the end of the hour. He sent out a greeting card with (as close as I can remember) "And all the stockings were hung with care. So there's no need to hang anything else, right?" LMAO (It was from a late night show, I forgot which one, but how appropriate)
But it would give more cover for his recusal from the case and the appointment of someone else.
Wow! Is there more to say? Just WOW! This is a major event. For a state bar to file a formal complaint against a newly elected prosecutor who has served in the prosecutor's office for nearly three decades is beyond mind boggling.
Wow! I never saw this coming. Politics being politics -- and you can't get much more political than the state bar -- I figured long ago that the case would be dismissed and that Nifong would keep his position. Looks like I was wrong and I am so happy to be wrong.
That corrupt, race-pandering, arrogant Durham prosecutor is going down big time! I hope they strip the creep of his ticket to practice law.
Wow! This is such good news.
Hey! Then that would mean.......
:)
Hey Mikey - you are so screeeeeeeewed! LOL
He won't be disbarred for some time, if he is. These commissions are slower than molasses.
Yes, he would have to resign. He would not be able to practice law if he's disbarred.
The only thing they're wondering is "Now who's gonna prosecute those white boys?"
You heard right. There are no written or electronic records of the grand jury proceedings in NC.
The grievance file was opened in March and at this point, the complaint relates only to the Fong's public statements and public lies. Almost certainly, the Bar has other aspects of his conduct under review. If the Bar wants to, it can push the Fong really, really hard. For instance,-- "We would settle for a reprimand if you thought it a good idea to resign as DA. Otherwise, we are amending the complaint to include things which have more recently occurred." I don't know that the Bar will go that route, but they could.
Second to last paragraph at the end:
Plaintiff prays that:
(2) Defendant [Nifong] be taxed with the costs permitted by law in connection with this proceeding; and
(3) For such other and further relief as is appropriate.
It doesn't get better than this.
Also of interest is commentary by students and alumni of Duke University. Apparently large segments of students and alums are mad enough to take action against the president and the group of 88 super losers who signed the letter thanking black activists for marching and demonstrating against the LAX program and presumably for hanging the three players. This has the potential to eliminate the center of mass of liberalism from a major university.
If the charges aren't dropped by that time, even if the hearing on the motion to suppress the identifications because Mangum can't make it, this will be useful in the change of venue because Nifong knows he can't get a conviction anywhere but Durham. If venue goes, it's another huge blow to Nifong.
What filing now with the commission does, among other good things, is pressure the court to dump Nifong and allow the AG to take over or appoint someone.
Woo-Hoo!!!!
