Naw,just singing to the home crowd. Russia can't even get its way regionally, so how can they actually believe they are still a superpower?

It never ended. It would take generations to undue all the communist brainwashing this country has had forced on its people.

Spare me. By any measure, the US sells enough weapons to make the same charge. The Russkies have weapons to sell....they'll sell them. We're the last country who should be slapping them on the wrist.

Russia sells arms to Syria and Iran, Syria and Iran infiltrate jihadist killers into Iraq who in turn murder American troops. What does that make the Russians?

We're the last country who should be slapping them on the wrist.

We should be buying from them. If they had us as a customer, then they would not need to sell to our adversaries, nor would they feel a need to keep stirring up trouble in order to sell to our adversaries. They would then try to placate us so that we would keep buying from them. For instance BTRs are much more suited to the role of patroling Anbar or escorting KBR convoys than "uparmored" HMMVs. Their sloped sides and undercarriage deflect IED blasts better than the flat-sided and flat-bottomed HMMV.

You could say the same thing about our arms supplies going to Egypt and Saudia Arabia. Most of the 9/11 killers were Saudi. Ayman al-Zawahiri is Egyptian.

I agree selling the Wahhabist oil barons weapons is insane. Egypt could go jihadic in a second contingent on who is running the place. Russia on the other hand, is making it possible for Iran to become a nuclear threat.

"Remain" a superpower? Did Ivanov miss the collapse of the EVIL EMPIRE, ...or does he just miss the EVIL EMPIRE? What a deluded impotent bully.
