When's the last time a Democratic Senator was elected President? Kennedy? I know it's been awhile.
My prediction (FWIW, ha-ha): The person who becomes President in 2008 will not be rising from a Senate position.

Biden is one of the biggest aholes that I have ever seen (outside of Massachusetts) who actually believes that he is relevant.
He must need to spend some campaign money in order to take care of a few friends and pay back a few favors.
