Iran: Christian states ruined Christmas

Islamic Republic media outlet says, 'UN Security Council decision to place sanctions on Iran ruined holiday'

The UN Security Council decision to place sanctions on Iran has "ruined Christmas," according to Iranian state media.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said in an editorial on Tuesday: " On the eve of the auspicious birthday of Jesus Christ when all Muslim and Christian believers extend best wishes to each other on the onset of the new year, leaders of Christian states took an unacceptable action toward Iranians by passing a resolution against (Iran's) national nuclear program which surprised every individual in Iran ."

The IRIB described the sanctions as "surprising," as "the Islamic Republic of Iran has designed the national nuclear program for civilian use and all Iranian nuclear sites are under (the) supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."

The statement continued: "(The) IAEA has installed cameras on all Iranian nuclear sites monitoring them 24 hours and (the) Islamic Republic of Iran regards (the) nuclear bomb as forbidden in accordance with the lofty teachings of Islam."

"The resolution was passed just two weeks after the Zionist Olmert admitted having nuclear bombs, something which threatens international peace and security," the IRIB declared.

'God willing, Jesus will return'

Citing a "religious sense of brotherhood," the IRIB added that "Iranians cannot remain silent in the face of systematic slaughter of fellow Muslims in Palestine by an occupying regime and view such an atrocity against Muslims as injustice and something that should be dealt with."

The official state media outlet also wrote that "Iranians express indignation at any unjust resolution that is being passed to force them to give up their humanitarian and Islamic beliefs."

In a recent statement, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad linked Christianity's deity, Jesus, with the 12th Imam, Mahdi, revered by Shiite Muslims as a messiah who will return to earth to establish dominance for Islam worldwide.

"God willing, Jesus would return to the world along with the emergence of the descendant of the Islam's Holy Prophet, Imam Mahdi and wipe away every tinge of oppression, pain and agony from the face of the world," Ahmadinejad said.

Just want to make sure that mahmoody doesn't ruin a future Christmas and/or a future Chanukah blackening the world by wiping Israel or anywhere else off the map (peaceful purposes, my a**).

We had a great Christmas, and the fact that the IRIB thinks it was ruined makes it even better.

We do not have a "Christian state" in the same sense that there are "Islamic states" grounded in theocratic rule and religious text as the law of the land.

I'd say demon-possessed. You can't be as consistently evil with mere insanity.

Citing a "religious sense of brotherhood,"

Ok, if they like Jesus so much, why doesn't this "sense of brotherhood" ever extend to non-Muslims except in the most cursory of fashions?

I must have missed something, because the only sanctions I saw were sanctions against selling Iran nuclear technology.

Is it somehow "mean" of us to get the rest of the world to stop selling Iran stuff to use to kill us? I guess it is mean for a homeowner to have a gun or an alarm system to stop burglars and armed robbers from simply coming in and helping themselves to whatever they want. I guess it is mean for a woman to resist a rapist. It really ruins his day.

Excuse me but which states, with the exception of the Vatican, are "Christian?"

.....when all Muslim and Christian believers extend best wishes to each other on the onset of the new year....

What a lying SOS..

..there are no muslim "believers" who will extend anything to Christians, or anybody else, for that matter except that Christians and all other "infidels" either "choose" to convert to islam, or die.

Neither choice suits me very much.

What ruined Christmas? How about the numerous wars that are going on that are fought fervently by the proponents of an ideology of death, destruction, violence, conversion by force and death to Christians and Jews?

"I guess it is mean for a homeowner to have a gun or an alarm system to stop burglars and armed robbers from simply coming in and helping themselves to whatever they want."

Well, in places like San Francisco, Massachusetts, and Great Britain, displaying a gun in those situations would make YOU the bad guy, in the morally invert world of the liberal. (Hey, you're supposed to consider the class-oppressed status of the poor robber!;) Nobody should wonder why lefties don't consider places like Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan worth fighting over...
