Hillary's New Strategy: The Mom President
FOX ^ | Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

Posted on 12/25/2006 10:11:17 PM PST by Coleus

“We’ve never had a mother who ever ran or was elected president…”

That was Hillary Clinton speaking earlier this week, when she appeared on the television show The View. Don’t think for a minute that she was just making an interesting historical observation. No, Hillary doesn’t work that way. She never says or does anything that hasn’t been perfectly scripted and endlessly polled beforehand. She had a message, a new strategy to try out. So look for the new “Mom Strategy” to be the anchor of her presidential run.

Forget Soccer Moms and Security Moms; now it’s going to be all Moms all the time — with Hillary as the biggest Mom of all.

The “Mom Strategy” is key to presenting the latest iteration of Hillary. She needs to move out of the center space that she populated in her last reincarnation as a moderate. That’s over. Because democratic primary voters are squarely at odds with her positions on the war in Iraq, she needs to move on. The “Mom Strategy” gives her a credible way to tack to the left on the war. She’s already begun. Last week, she told an NPR audience that she would have voted against the war if only she had known then what she knows now. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.

In furtherance of the new Mom strategy, she has re-released her best-selling book It Takes A Village. This time, she is pictured surrounded by adoring, well-groomed and respectful children on the cover. Just like Mom. This is no coincidence; it’s an element of the strategy. The subliminal message: I’m a Mom and I’m running for president. Moms take care of people, they’re compassionate and don’t want wars. The fact that the book isn’t selling well in its re-release

"It Takes a Village" by Hillary Clinton

Remember that in Hillary's book, the village she refers to, that she says is necessary to help you raise your child, is not defined as your family, friends and neighbors in your town, but rather as access to government programs of which she and her friends will be in charge.

Its pretty bad when your spokesperson (Dick Morris and Eileen McGann) have to EXPLAIN your strategy.

As in - "Look, we know ya'll rubes don't get it. See the new book, okay, we know its not selling, but see the picture on the new book, now doesn't THAT resonate with you? See. Hillary's a MOM. Now do ya'll get it?"

She may not have ran or been elected, but Hitlery will still be second when it comes to running the government by a woman;

Mom strategy for Hillary Rodham?

I think that Morris is correct on this one.

Something is a tad peculiar here, though. I mean about Hillary's "momhood".

Consider that Juanita Broddrick bravely reported that when former and impeached and disbarred president (then Ark A.G.?) Bill Clinton raped her, he claimed to be sterile, did he not?

I rarely get into "tabloid" issues, but also consider the durable rumors that Hillary's daughter Chelsea looks nothing like Bill, and very much like Webster Hubbell.

Why bring forth such an (admittedly trashy) topic? Because if (if) the claimed paternity of her offspring were provably false, then surely by the reckoning of many of the very Moms she is trying to impress, she would not be fit for the presidency.

And, since she is choosing to play the "Mom" card, perhaps her (alleged) behavior and values as a pre-mom might be a useful key to predict her behavior and values as a chief executive.

.

My prediction: Hitlary will appear on Rachael Ray's program to show off her cookie recipe. Then there will be the dueling cookies when John McCain puts his batter against Hitlary's in a cookie bake off. Ray will moderate the contest in case there is a batter sling fest.

"“We’ve never had a mother who ever ran or was elected president…”"

"That's wrong. She can't even get that fact straight. The media should be all over her for that. Carol Moseley Braun ran for President in 2004 and is a parent. "

The Blonde Bumshell used to say "no woman". That lie has been changed to "no mother".

Margaret Chase Smith

The first woman to run for U.S. president as a major political party candidate was U.S. Senator Margaret Chase Smith (of Maine), who ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1964. Also the first woman to serve in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, Smith was nationally known and respected on both sides of the political aisle for her national military policy work during and after World War II. . . .

I think Mrs. Smith had no children, so, not a mother.

Patricia Schroeder

She ran for President of the United States in 1988, before announcing her withdrawal in an emotional press conference on September 28, 1987. . . .

I don't think Ratsy was married, ergo, not a mommy.

Angela Davis

Davis ran for Vice President on the Communist ticket in 1980 and 1984.

"Carol Moseley Braun ran for President in 2004 and is a parent."

"Presidential campaign: She announced her intention to run for the Democratic presidential nomination in February of 2003. On January 15, 2004, four days before the Iowa caucuses, Moseley Braun dropped out of the race . . ."

Technically, Carol Mostly Fraud didn't run (anyway, she was a waddler).

you know, Hilly is better than an obvious point. But Dickey is under acknowledged as a "toe sucker". Did the deed in a hotel within sight of the White House with a hooker. Amazing he's now a Darling of Fox News and others.... Wonder if he likes toe-jam?

A Hillary Presidency would lead the country to a ruinous Nanny State, telling us what to eat and how to live.

"We are going to take things away from you for the Common Good", coming from Ma Hillary i something I hope we never see.
