DETROIT — Speaking in Dearborn, Mich., late Sunday night, the first Muslim elected to Congress told a cheering crowd of Muslims they should remain steadfast in their faith and push for justice.

"You can't back down, you can't chicken out, you can't be afraid, you got to have faith in Allah, and you got to stand up and be a real Muslim," Detroit native Keith Ellison said to loud applause.

"Allahu akbar" — God is great — was the reply of many in the crowd.

Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas. Right? Am I close?

You wrote that to make it known to all that you have no fleas.

Too late to back out of your corner.

Osama bin Laden.. He knows NOI members are merely useful idiots like all pseudo Muslims.. NOI members might risk their lives committing a robbery but strapping explosives on themselves is ridiculous..

Don't watch TV news or read much about Islam, do you?

I ask the same question of you.

How many do you know by their first name and can sit down and talk with them for a hour or two at a time?

This will be my last post on this subject because it is obvious that most os the posters here have absolutely zero personal knowledge.

Read the NYT and a few books and know all.

By the way, I am old enough to remember when we had exactly the same kind of discussion about black people. Of course, it was different but it was still the same.

Rant on, I am gone.

I'm not the one advocating for a death cult. The responses you given to me and other posters are logical fallacies. You've got nothing and you're a fool.

How many adherents of a death cult are not death cultists?

"OK, so now we know you have never talked to a Muslim. So now that we know that, we can ignore your rantings.

Oh, I have talked to plenty of Muslims, more than I care to have. I know very well what their opinions are, and they have no trouble expressing them under the right conditions. As far as ignoring rantings go,you haven't a clue what you are talking about obviously. When this war does break out, that will probably cost you and your familly their lives because of that ignorance.

Now, you had better get back to that dog you've been laying with. Maybe He'll tell you more about how peacefull Islam is, contracy to what 1400 years of it's hisstory does.

Rant on, I am gone.
Why??? Because we don't all agree with you?
Darn I was just getting started. Since you have not been here too long I guess I should be nicer but on the topic of Muslims I find that hard to do. Bad me. Good night and Merry Christmas everyone!!! ~~Pandora~~

This is my country. I have a nice bullet for any man who wants to put a veil on my wife or daughter. I have no problem with Islam, but it is starting look like it wants to start a problem with me.

"Who decides WHAT is a religion these days? The Government? You don't want to go there.

Perhaps not, but like it or not, we will be going there, one way or another. If you don't believe these Islamic nutters mean what they say, you are very mistaken. It is exactly this 'head in the sand' attitude that has allowed Jihad to grow by leaps and bounds over the past 75 years. It seems that the only think we have been able to learn from history is how to repeat it.

I used to go to Minneapolis a lot on business.

By its very nature it is a very liberal state (Humphrey, McCarthy, Mondale, Wellstone). The state income tax is far higher than most states.

The Congressional district he represents is the most liberal district in a liberal state. No one has "white guilt" like Scandinavians. The Minneapolis Star Tribune (aka Red Star) did some very selective reporting.

His district would never elect a Republican so when he won the primary, he was in.

Only pointing out that there are some very good people in this world who are Muslim.

Just think how much better these "very good" people would be if they had the wisdom and courage to walk away from the savage death cult they are now involved in.

That's probably what they said in Somalia.

No the Constitution CLEARLY states that there won't be any laws against or restricting religion of any kind.

And if it was amended it would state something else, wouldn’t it?

It figures that members of this forum only want THEIR religions and not others. Pathetic.

Don’t you have a bit of a problem claiming constitutional protection for a doctrine that has as a stated aim the destruction of constitutional protections? Do you not see the logical problem here?

Could you live with an amendment to the first amendment adding a small caveat? How about something like: “…providing such religion is not hell-bent on violently converting us all and destroying constitution governance, the right to practice it freely shall not be infringed.”? Fair enough? Otherwise, isn’t any subversive ideology free to operate as long as it claims some sort of supernatural authority?

If you claim you can’t be governed by any secular authority because only your god can govern, isn’t it a little silly to claim protections for your god from that same secular authority? Pathetic indeed.
