Equal Justice: Sandy Berger deliberately pilfered and hid classified documents. So why is Scooter Libby the one facing prison time? And why aren't these docs on the front page of the New York Times? National Archives Inspector General Paul Brachfield on Wednesday released a report showing that in 2004 Berger, President Clinton's national security adviser, "knowingly removed classified documents from the National Archives and Records Administration and stored and retained such documents at places," including temporarily under a construction trailer outside the main National Archives building. This seems to blatantly contradict the feeble mea culpa Berger issued when in the summer of 2004 he was caught removing said documents and stuffing them into his clothing, documents that directly contradicted his testimony before the 9/11 Commission.

#20. the doublestandard is in use and being supported by the enemedia.
Democrats can say and do anything. Republicans get destroyed for anything.
Works when the enemedia is truly on the wrong side, which they are.
:-(
This was in Editor & Publisher? I've seen everything.
The mainstream news media has its own "culture of corruption."
No -it was in the Editorial and Opinion section of Investors Business Daily website. I thought the same thing as well. There's no way those lib elite snots would opine something like this.
The contrast between the treatment of Libby and Berger has me blind with rage. As far as I'm concerned, the Justice Department should simply level with the American public and announce: "Equal Justice Under Law is suspended until further notice."
bttt
I tell you what I find surprising as I read the threads here on FR on this is that there is as much outrage and surprise as there is at this point in time. Wait a minute.... weren't all these details known or at least accurately surmised by smart Freepers before? We've already known for a long long time that Berger stole the documents with all their incriminating notations in them, destroyed them, replaced them with who knows what, got a slap on the wrist for it, media paid almost no attention to the 'why' of this story but lots of smart Freepers (as usual) figured out exactly what the motivation was - that being that the actions that Berger risked in the NA was so extreme that the documents that he stole had to contain incredibly damning information to the Clinton regime and it all has to do with 9/11..... and thus the 9/11 report is a farce and all the crooks slink off scot-free. So what's new to be outraged about? Hasn't all this unfolded just about as predicted here a long time ago? Did anyone really expect Berger to get something stronger, the rest of the crooks meet their just reward or even for the media to think beyond being lapdogs for the Democrats on this story?
Not only coverup by the Clinton administration, but clear collusion will all mainstream networks (ABCCBSNBC). NOT A SINGLE NETWORK REPORTED THIS TONIGHT, NOT ONE! Immagine that. These so-called "news" networks are a laughing stock.
All of the Clinton cronies have been treated by the Bush admin with kid gloves.
Makes you wonder what they have on Jr.
What Jay Rockefeller story? Are you talking about the letter to Exxon/Mobil or is this something I don't know about.
???
Why would a DNC organ do anything to damage the Democrat party?
I hang my head --- and I thanks for not making issue of mis-spelling of Jay Rockefeller's name.
"Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) on "Fox Sunday" on November 14, 2005,"
snip "I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11."
