It goes without saying that if you're the Commander-in-Chief, among the first people whose criticism you'd want to take into account would be . . . Hollywood movie stars. At least, that would seem to be Chris Matthews's opinion.
Have a look at this video clip from this afternoon's Hardball.
The specific object of Chris's ire was the president's suggestion at his press conference today that Americans shop more. Asked Matthews:
Well, naturally, Matt's views on shopping should be of top concern to any president. Then again, wouldn't Barbra Streisand have more expertise on the particular subject matter at hand?"I wonder if he's in touch with the critics out there, like Matt Damon, the actor, who was on this program Monday?"
Matt Damon
So the President should listen to a guy that dropped out of college to be an actor.
Sounds like Matthews had a bad trip and his brain is fried like the rest of the MSM lunatics.
Great FReeper humor. LOL! Deserves to be BUMPED!
Matt Damon
Matt has a new movie. He wants people to pay to see his movie, not go shopping. Chrissy is, well, a douchebag.
Chris Mathews touched Matt Damon on his show last Monday?
New tagline
That's the one.
Proof that entertainers get far more respect than they should. As if anyone cares what any actor has to say politically! Can anyone out there name ONE actor in the history of Hollywood whose opinions mattered to a majority of the voters ...
um ...
Nevermind!!!
If a story I post helps a fellow FReeper coin a new tagline, my day has been a success ;-)
Believe it or not .. but I still remember back in the old days when Chrissy didn't make such a fool of himself
Come think of it MATT DAMON is he high school dropout?
Or college dropout
Beside MATT HELLO Dubya is too busy listen to you SORRY excuse President for Living he has better thing to do than listen to Guy who been reset by Team America the movie
Matt Damon has a wife and child.
But the basic point of the article is right. It is absurd for actors to pontificate on things they have little understanding of. I don't hear members of Congress or the Senate giving film reviews.
Wonder if Chrissy's in touch with most people's remembering that he worked for maybe the worst President in this country's history?
I am praying that either you watched Bill O'Reilly's first segment with Richard Holbrooke...or had someone watch it.
Talk about ridiculous...Holbrooke was telling BOR what the troops in Iraq think about the war...and Bill was saying that they feel just the opposite...Holbrooke was VERY adamant about his story...
When Bill reminded him that HE, BOR had just come from there, talking to the troops, Holbrooke said they would not tell Bill the truth, yada yada..
However, I got the impression by the end of the segment that Bill pretty much caved to Richard...
GAG ME!
Unfortunately I missed it. Among other things I've been prepping to appear on the Lars Larson show tonight at 8:30 PM ET. I'll try to record a BOR replay overnight.
