I did see your 225.
President Bush knows Mary Cheney, you do not. The Cheneys also know their own daughter. I'll take their assessment that she will be a loving mother over some random person's opinion on the Internet.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear a single reporter even bring it up.
I'm very surprised.

" . . . this administration's idiotic decision in the aftermath of 9/11 to topple one of the most secular, moderate governments in the Middle East at the time (the Ba'athist government in Iraq)."
This is the first time I've ever heard anyone describe Saddam's regime as "moderate." But we WERE told it was the most secular in the Middle East, and that is precisely one of the reasons why we choose to invade it. We thought the transition to democracy would be facilitated by the secularism. But now we are finding out that that "secular" image was largely false, and that the country - like all the other Muslim countries - is a hotbed of religious fanaticism, clericalism, sectarianism, and tribalism.

I thought he made clear his goal--victory but he concealed what he was going to do about troops. Left it open.
Interestingly, the Press seems intent on him saying we are "losing" or "lost." They become giddy at the prospect.
I still feel he, and we, will prevail in Iraq and time will prove this to be a hard job but one we accomplished.

Britney Spears is so last week... So is the Mary Cheney story. Didn't stop them though.

Reagan did have a great voice. Really quite a sweet guy, but his voice could be cold as ice and he had that "selective hearing loss" that allowed him to take hits and never look like he felt them or was aware of them at all.

Ditto. Your comment could have been posted to at least 50% of recent FR threads.

I am a conservative, and may not agree with Mary Cheney's lifestyle but I don't have a problem with her loving a child and raising it in a loving home, who would have been put in foster care, otherwise..

You know - the funny thing is that my Grandma said the same things about Reagan that people here say about Bush. Just sayin'.
Yep. The memories that I have during the Reagan era, was a constant onslaught by the MSM. I was young and never really understood it since what I saw was a great leader. Comedians like Robin Williams portrayed him as a Disney puppet being controlled like a robot running on batteries.

True.. but I think we new that because Saddam always got 100% of the vote.

"There are science geeks who know alot, but are terrible public speakers."
Reminds me of the time my high school class visited the cyclotron lab at the University of Washington, and one of our guides was this geek with a horrible stammer who could barely talk. But he probably had a PhD in Physics. (The other guide was this drop-dead gorgeous woman, probably also a PhD.)

Are you saying Mary Cheney can't love ber baby because she is gay? Some around here believe exactly that.

..disagree, he fell right into it by referring to her as a loving mother, as if there were a possibility of a normal parental relationship...Now that is a hateful, judgmental thing to say during the holiday season.
Would you prefer that the birth mother aborted the baby?
