Surely you must be illustrating your own level of support for the President?

No Mr. President, Americans want LEADERSHIP, not bi-partisanship.

Disappointing to whom?
btw, who said this was a 'performance?'
It's the Commander in Chief during a time of war. You can't understand the difference?
Another REALLY stupid question comparing him with LBJ.

Geez, I wish, I wish, I wish... pleeeease would you give a speech and NOT sound like you are whining? (I miss Reagan.) More than *ANYTHING* his stunningly complete inability to articulate and sell the ongoing effort has made its own success harder and harder to ever achieve.

I think he knows that 65% are against this war. I used to think, now I know for sure it will take another major strike against this country to convince about 50% of the 65% you speak of to realize the battle in Iraq is just that, a battle.
This is a world wide war on terror and 65% of the people are apparently willing to lose this battle and fight a far greater war later.
Not me. I will remain in the minority until such time as this attack on the U.S. happens and I think it will.
Please let it be after 5/07 when my daughter will be moving out of NYC.

This President has been through more in his term than any other in history. I pray for him daily and I still am very proud of what he has done.

Some of the more stupid posts on this thread represent the reason I can't stand to read Free Republic posts much anymore.

Imiagine a World War II where we didn't bomb the enemy into oblivion, we insisted on calling fascism a "religion of peace," and where we allowed Germany to establish a new post-war government with totalitarian fascism written into their constitution as their form of government.
That's pretty much how this "war" has been waged for the last four years.

I will answer why it's a disappointing performance.
The President needs to "MAN UP".
Drop the touchie feelie crap, get angry and lead.
"this where I am taking this country - and this is why"
The man sounds awful.
To: Chuck54
I'm really surprised he didn't roll his eyes when he said he was "listening to the people on the Baker-Hamilton group". Well, Bob Gates was on that group from March through early November when he was nominated to replace Rummy. Since his name isn't on the final report, that's overlooked.

How difficult it must be to lead a war in this microwave, soft culture with the domestic enemy controlling the media, and now the Congress.
Pray for our President!!

Good. That poster made a few posts in 2004 and then not another post until this morning.
