Durham Four men who authorities said posed as police officers to commit robberies from North Carolina to New York were being held Monday night in the Durham County Detention Center on $1 million bonds.
Alexis D. Morillo, 23, of Reading, Pa.; Gabriele Pabon, 39, of Corona, N.Y.; Roberto Lopez, 23, whose address not immediately known; and Lameck L. Staton, 23, of Reading, Pa., are each charged with with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping and impersonating a police officer.
"These gentlemen have extensive records up and down the East Coast," Durham County Assistant District Attorney Beth Koontz said, noting all four are wanted by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Not to worry. These are just undocumented no-knock raids.
If they would have just shot the dog noone would have been the wiser.
Just to be safe, always shoot at someone busting down your door. If you kill someone, there's a 100% chance that it was a thug.
The Israelis will surround a suspected terrorist house, then call the residents on the phone. At that point, they either come outside peacefully or else the house gets bombed/raided.
It's pretty effective, and the interesting part is that innocents in homes surreounded due to mistakes are typically not traumatized, not killed, not shot at...and the mistake is remedied harmlessly.
Lets face it, mistakes are going to happen in life. In contrast, it's policies that pretend that everything and everyone goes as planned that fail.
...so instead of conducting no knock raids, homes of suspected criminals should be surrounded and the residents should be called on the telephone. Tell them to come outside rather than storming inside.
Storming a home is the product of lazy prosecutors who want *more* evidence than they already have (they have to already have *some* evidence to get the raid authorized and warrant issued).
Well, prosecutors do society a disfavor by encouraging this sort of evidence gathering...and that's the *only* reason for a no-knock raid...to gather additional evidence.
But then the wannabes wouldn't get to use their toys.
Sure they would. Same toys, just used to surround said houses instead of barge in.
The real goal is to get people accustomed to living in a police state.
If the goal was to disrupt criminal operations or collect evidence, there are ways that are apt to be just as effective but far safer for all concerned. Some don't even require a warrant (e.g. just have the cops pay a friendly social call on a suspected drug house, then after the cop hands the resident a flyer and asks him to phone if he sees the person pictured thereon, let the drug dealer explain to his boss why he just flushed thousands of dollars down the toilet).
Once the exercise has been repeated a couple times and the drug dealers don't flush their contraband, then conduct the actual search. Simple.
Here is the most common home invasion;

This is what I have been saying all along. Criminals are posing as police and conducting no knock raids. Here is the latest example.
Now dawg, there might be some comments here you shouldn't take personal. Just ignore them...if you can.
I started laughing at the comments, ut then I remembered it's personal dammit. So I'm tyring hard to be mad. BUt thne I get an image of that assault-whatever-it-is parked outside the local spudnuts shoppe.
Still, Gawain, cut us a bit of a break, okay? Do you know, have you thought, do you care how many deaths what you said could lead to if it were taken at all seriously?
And, I do like the idea of the phone call. "Hey, Buddy! Look out your window. You're out here in 20 seconds or we're in there in 21 seconds. Your choice. Nineteen, Eighteen, ..."
If more cops show up to collect the bodies after I shoot the first ones who kick in my door.

This one was used just today in a residential sub division in Gwinnett County Georgia. The guy they were after was a suspect in a murder case. They used it to ram the garage door where the suspect was sitting in his car. Oh yea, they killed him...surely he was guilty.
Thanks for the ping. I was deer hunting and just got back. Got a nice 7 pt!
