Remember back when Rick Warren was adamantly denying that his inviting Barack Obama to his HIV conference had anything to do with politics?
Well - if that's the case - why is it that he's now TALKING POLITICS on CNN and sending the message that "Obama's Da Man"?

Dittoes to that--he practically gave Bill Clinton absolution, and he's not even Catholic. But Campolo was always liberal, and always loved to hang with the Hollywood crowd and praise and be praised by them. He preached the "Christians are not allowed to be conservative in public" line since the seventies.
Ah well. They voted for Carter in 1976 and Bill Clinton in 1992, too.
That's what passes for spiritual discernment in some devout Christian quarters.
Jim Bakker, Rick Warren, Ted Haggard, Paul Barnes, Jimmy Swaggert.... they're all in it for the gay sex, drugs, money, and power. Screw 'em all. This latest sick clown, Rick Warren, cannot be surprising to anybody.
Every day since the election, I see a new FR thread written by libertarians (or, maybe they're anti-GOP trolls pretending to be 'tarians) who claim that the GOP losses are because of some "taint" coming from Christian conservatism.
But a Democrat is never ashamed of a vote or a word of support. It's the Republicans, who want everyone's approval, who are chipping off their most vital and reliable constituency.
He's trying to hitch his wagon to a rising star....pathetic really....
Omigosh, potlatch, you have gone and done it. Haha, if only they looked this good....
This is one of the top graphics of the year.. :)
LOL, thanks LE!!
Looking at the US Senate, the only rat, either currently or in recent memory, who is reliably pro-life is Nelson of Nebraska. Recently retired senators Breaux and Miller had a reputation for being pro-life but in reality were not reliably so.
Where is the honesty in saying his meeting in Syria was not taped while a tape of the subject meeting was playing on Youtube?
I don't think that Mad Howie or Ricky Warren are going to sway many Evangelicals. I don't know of any who are going to vote Demo.
Rick Warren is not a clone of Billy Graham. Most Evangelicals have neither heard him preach nor wish to. He is a pastor who has changed many churches, some for the worse, some for the better, but his moral weight is not high. He does not carry the moral weight of John Hagee, or Ed Young or a dozen others to whom Evangelicals look for instruction in morals and scripture. He is simply popular because of books.
I dislike him intensely as I feel that much of his organizational talent is only suited to his immediate area. His idea that there should be special services for seekers is anathema to me. We lay it out the full platter for those who have been chosen by God to be saved. And they come to our family in droves, by the dozens, by the hundreds, all choosing to raise their flag for Jesus.
As far as Ricky Warren goes, my answer to his endorsement of Obabama is simply this: So what? He is not my goto guy for political or moral guidance. In the latter case Ed Young fills up that slot nicely. Politically, I will not vote for a man who supports abortion, homosexual marriage, euthanasia and homosexuals in the Boy Scouts. Nor will I support a man who is an atheist, a muslim or one who has such little cojones that he will not tell the press which religion he adheres to.
And if you don't like that...come and get me.
??
Just a closing statement. Rhetorical, if you like, but consistent with most Evangelical's beliefs.
Hahahahaha.
I imagine his church members who are truly Conservatives Christians will not like this news!
Get ready to hear of more being given the boot for trying to hold the leadership accountable.
good point. It seems to be a trend in these preogressive churches these days that when people speak out to the church leaders about something unBiblical that they see going on in their church they are told shut up or leave. Sadly, this is what has happend in my church.
If ever there was a display of incivility, that was it. Oh, dear, if only Brother Rick had been there to save the day! Why, I'd wager that if Jesus had submitted himself to Brother Rick's encouragment and guidance, he probably wouldn't have alienated so many people, and would have lived out his days in peaceful harmony, ultimately dying of old age, after a long, peaceful, civil life.
But thankfully, our generation has the likes of Brother Rick to set us on the right path, eh?
I think J. Farah has summed up Warren's M.O. quite well (based on my take on what's been reported thus far).
