Katie Couric Lashes Out at 'Vultures' (priceless!)

Katie Couric admits that her new gig as anchor of the CBS Evening News has been "a little harder than I thought it would be."

"Some people out there are rooting for me to fail," Couric, 49, tells Esquire in its January issue. "You have to be unwavering in your convictions that you're doing something good, because there are a lot of circling vultures that will eat you alive."

Couric points out that Esquire itself criticized her after her Sept. 5 debut. "You guys even take a shot at me," she tells the magazine. "You have something in the November issue, something about how since I've become an anchor, you don't know me anymore. You don't know me anymore? Bite me."

The real irony is no one could care (based on the number of people watching the show.)

Never watched her doing her thing on the morning show or the evening news. I guess I have been blessed!

In an effort to salvage her sagging CBS ratings, Katie produced yet another special based on her nationally televised, award-winning (the prestigious Sphincter Cup) colonoscopy of several years ago.

Unfortunately, so much of the footage was found to contain images such as the still seen here that it was rendered unusable and the project had to be s**tcanned.

Katie told interviewers later that this is how she spends much of her free time as this is where she gets some of her best program ideas. She cited her interview with Hillary Clinton as a prime example.

Well I for one have not been hoping for Katie the Perky One to fail....she has been doing a bang up job of that herself.

Her nasally, sophomoric delivery irritates me no matter the content of her news.

If there is any "biting" to be done....CBS should bite the bullet Katie and get you outta there for whatever it costs them.
