Shall we call Evan Bayh Evan Bye Bye, or Evan Byed?
Newt says that the military is the only segment of our government that works (have to agree with that), and he wants a huge "works" project for Iraq.
Says if we get defeated in Iraq there will not be enough marines to protect our embassies worldwide.
All Tim can think to ask after everything Newt says is "so would you send more troops?"
You are missing a remarkable pancake makeup job on Teddy's face.
Kennedy touting Dem plans to support our troops. Wallace asks what they plan to do. Kennedy chuckles, "Wait and see."
............................... not too bad for a Sunday morning. Only one average sized bucket should do it this week.
;-)
By the way, since you're such an even tempered and well-intentioned FReeper, StoneWall Brigade, may I drop a pet peeve on you here? You wrote, "please keep the Newt bashing down just a little bit." I've been thinking about the following for a very long time.
Do you realize how relatively meaningless and less-than-informative the words "bash" and "trash" are when used as a verb. Do you realize that it wasn't too very long ago that those two words were nearly always used only as nouns?
When I see people here accusing others of "Bush bashing", Rush bashing", Hannity bashing", "conservative trashing", etc., I just marvel at how the phrase says about absolutely nothing. Why can't people be specific when they want to try to claim that others are saying something negative about another?
"Bash" and "trash" as verbs seems just plain silly. (jmo)
I can honestly say that I have never in my life used either of them as a verb. Rah, rah.
;-)
****
But when the Republicans retake Congress and also win the Presidency in 2008, we will have ourselves one heck of a bash.
;-)
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
I think I will watch Newt on MTP. I have some concerns about him, but he does speak well, and has some good ideas.
I wasn't going to watch either, but decided to click over. I must say Teddy is shameful. All he can do is blame america...."we support the troops by making sure they are not in harms way" (paraphrased). I've always had my doubts about Chris Wallace, but today he showed me what a lefty he is. He is really pushing Teddy to make a commitment to pull funds from the troops and the mission in Iraq. At least Wallace does ask one decent question: "Do we have any moral obligation to the people of Iraq who we said we would help?" Teddy: We have failed the Iraqi people. Shame on Chris Wallace for not calling Teddy the anti-american clymer he is.
Here 's this sunday's Media Nuggets
###### Bill O'Reilly Visits Troops In Baghdad, following Sean Hannity. Camp Striker dining facility becomes No-Spin Zone - He is interviewing soldiers and Generals and visiting hospitals. All next week, he will show various interviews with commanders, soldiers & even some Iraqis with a special one-hour on the next week-end on all things about his Iraq visit.
###### Reid raids on AP - John Solomon, Associated Press' Senior Investigative Reporter (19 years in AP) was unceremoniously removed, who exposed Harry Reid's $1M Land Deal Scandal and his Abramoff connection. Reid's liberal cronies succeeded in removing him.
(Footnote:Wash.Post just hired him as it's national reporter. Whether he would continue to report Reid scandals - remains to be seen. )
###### When First Lady Laura Bush exposed NBCivil war in Iraq's biased negative coverage on Iraq, Carter intern Brian Williams tried to hide behind Iraq surrender group to defend his network on nightly news. Meanwhile, NBC's parent company GE Lost Multibillion Dollar Nuclear Reactors Deal to another American company. (Kicker: Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman helped finalising the deal.)
###### VNU, the parent of Nielsen Media Research, to cut it's workforce by about 4,100 jobs.
###### NY Post Comes to Chicago - NYPost is the early days Fox with honest & patriotic reporting.(Wish people at Fox avoid NYT & follow their sister publication for news reportage).
###### "A Journalist Who Lets His Patriotism... Get in the Way of his Work" -> Christian Science Monitor profile of Bill Roggio, worries that his readers are getting a one-sided picture if they don't follow traditional Big Media coverage.
###### Carol Iovanna & Dari Alexander are out from Fox. Access Hollywood's lead host Nancy O'Dell is pregnant & another host Billy Bush will be moved to 'fourth-hour' segment of Today show. CNN's chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta & Anderson Cooper will be regular contributors to CBS too.
###### No questioning authority! - AP Promotes Two Reporters Involved in Fake Reporting.
###### "Considered one of the most charismatic leaders of the 20th century" - Katie Couric on Fidel Castro. No wonder, her ratings struggle to catch up anywhere near other networks.
###### Liar ...Liar! - Blogger Michael Fumento catches Time Magazine's Lie.
###### NYTimes appoints former Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia CFO - as their new CFO, who testified for the prosecution against Martha Stewart.
###### Challenge to AP! - Former CNN chief Eason Jordan who admitted selling out CNN to Saddam Hussein to keep its Baghdad bureau open & was fired after he accused our Soldiers of targetting & killing journalists - is going to do "original reporting from Iraq". What Next? Dan Rather and Mary Mapes open a document analysis service? Michelle Malkin Joins & challenges - Literally!, as does Michael Yon and others.
###### NYTimes stands with - terrorist-supporting charities... and ignores well-documented facts in order to do so.
###### Paged: Matt Drudge - The Mendacity Of the Liberal Press.
Newt: "All of our instruments of civilian power are broken."
These guys are so biased its unbelievable!
In the old days of straight news journalism, anyone who dared interject an opinion into the "news" would have been summarily beheaded.
This is codespeak for "We don't know what in hell to do. Please freshen this drink."
That is why I will not give Fox my viewing time anymore.
No second computer here for quite a while...we have other priorities. Maybe if I win the lottery...
Much appreciated Morgan.
Thanks! I guess I will have to watch bor this week. I had given up on him.
I wish Wallace would ask, "So, Senator, what would Mary Jo Kopechne say about all this, if you hadn't shamefully left her to slowly drown in your Buick?"
Timmy has failed in trying to get Newt to say it's all Bush's fault...and Rummy's. Nice verbal footwork by Newt.
I think Timmy just said that the ACLU are patriots.
Wasn't that opening chase scene in "Casino Royale" amazing? Worth the price of admission just for that part!
