I'm watching John Meuller on CSPAN, he wrote a book called "Overblown" and is on air talking about how our country is over reacting to the terrorist threat. "The problem is not what the terrorists do, but what we do in reaction". Oh so typical lefty...scarey that this character is given an audience on CSPAN. "In many respects, the enemy is us".
Tancredo said locally the only person less liked was Castro, according to the guy who initially invited him. I think he's enjoying being a lightening rod on the issue.
It's been unseasonably warm here for weeks now. Just one bitter bitter bitter cold day and then back to 60's.....
Morning AB, All,
Gotta get ready for church. Also, am on today for making choices, etc.
But got some news I want to share quickly.
First, went to another Sussex county GOP Women's Club meeting. As usual, shit happens.
Before, I quit the GOP choir thing which I belonged to for one day. a)they didn't need another alto and b)I am in my church choir and this takes up too much of my time, especially now at Christmas. Although today we are doing the Ephiny and a Christmas play, complete with Wise Men, the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. We did a dress rehearsal yesterday and it is so lovely.
However, I DID get roped into doing the newsletter. Heh. Well I been doing newsletters all my life everywhere I go and don't forget I have a Blog that's been updated for this past three years. So yeah...when I quit the GOP choir I felt guilty so I told them I could write and boom....in 2007 I shall be doing the Sussex county GOP Women's group newsletter. What the hell, I can handle it with half my brain tied behind my back, to borrow a phrase from Rush.
Anyway, at this meeting some politico gets up at the podium and starts talking, thanking everyone, yada, yada. Well goodness no one introduced the fellow so of course I must raise my hand and ask him who the hell he is.
Turns out his name is Vance Phillips and he is on the Sussex county council, just re-elected. He does not represent MY district, however.
After his speech he comes up to me and asks me who the hell I am, heh. I apologize for not recognizing him but explained that it's better to know who's talking at you than remain in the dark. Of course I mention I am a Blogger and give him my card.
Just as soon as I got home there was an email in my inbox. The sum text of his email to me was: "Pat, I like your Blog. Vance Phillips."
What's even MORE interesting was the subject line in his email....it was, you should smile...FREEP ON.
Well I guess Mr. Phillips is a Freeper!
Go to hell, he might be reading this even now. Hey Vance, if you're reading, give us a post. I'm the one picking the best posts this week and if you do me this one little favor..., insert wink here.
Last night I went to the Hairways Christmas party. This is my niece's beauty shop for which I consult. THIS year we did something a bit different. For every year my niece gives everyone of her employees a Christmas check for $100. I told her to forget that, let's take advantage of some good old American greed and give the operator who brought in the most revenue a check for $500 and forget the rest of them. She does provide them with a nice Christmas party at a swank restaurant and gives them a little piece of jewelry.
Way I figger, the one way to get people to hump on is to give them...what? MORE MONEY! Everyone of her operators are part time and they work a various number of hours a week for various reasons. She has a hell of a time keeping that place staffed but she can't get a beautician willing to work five days a week to save her soul.
So I figger, the hell with it. The operator who brings in the most revenue gets a real nice bonus check. If this doesn't make them hustle and work more hours then I'm out of ideas. She does have two full time employees and to these I still cut a check for the normal $100 as was done before. Sheesh. Don't want to lose these people.
The party was nice but, heh, the one and only Lesbian member of the Hairways team shows up with her "partner". I really like this operator and think she is very pretty and personable. I'll never understand just why she chooses a woman over a man but then I don't suppose I was meant to understand. For all these years no-one's ever seen her partner so we were all surprised.
"She" looked exactly, and I mean EXACTLY, like John Denver.
This couple has a child but don't dare ask me how.
In fact, it was this gay operator who won the big bonus check and both of this couple was in tears with joy. She thanked me and I told her, forget about thanking me. What I want is for her to WANT to win again next year. Heh. Tit-for-tat, quid pro quo, my hand washes yours....
Will be back online later.
Tell me what's going on the talk shows, huh?
Meuller... ex-FBI honcho?
No. This guy is a professor at some school, is one of the things I heard him say about his background. Buthe is not the ex-FBI Meuller.
Great news OldFriend.
Yikes! I guess I'll stay here and avoid Miami in the future. BTW, there was a post earlier this morning complimenting Jeb Bush for turning the state into a more Republican state. If so, good for him!
Re, co-chairmen of the Energy Security Leadership Council;
I tracked their report down and read it. What a disappointment. It is all about command economy stuf like CAFE standards. Not one new idea in the whole thing.
What surprises me everytime I see a "couple" like that, is that one of
of them has to look like that. On purpose I feel. Just to prove a point I guess..
The Swimmer is making his first ever appearance on FNS.
I have no way of knowing but I'd guess Jeb will back off for awhile. At least that's what I've heard his camp saying if I remember right.
I will not be watching FNS, again, this Sunday. If I want to hear a lib, I can watch any other show. I never want to hear Teddie, although I might wonder if wallace wil ask him about his previous 'screwing up' of health care that he now claims not to be any good, or good enough. I will try to catch the panel.
thanks a lot for posting this every week.
Fred Smith, founder of FEDEX should be an interesting watch also. He is the "real deal" and needs to appointed head of the Postal Service to straighten that lackluster group a bit.
