Would this be politely called and eclectic ensemble or a growing group of naked opportunists?

I see there's four Republicans in the crowd. Disgusting.
They're being used and they should know better.
Who on earth is supposed to be watching out for Nancy Reagan?

I'm sure glad the CA Republican party gave millions upon millions to Rinold so he would win by 20 points while donating almost nothing to McClintock.

Alan Autry, Mayor of the City of Fresno

Keep an eye on Buba, the Riverdale cowboy. He may not be an unsophisticated European but he's our domestic equivalent.

When Buba and the Austrian engaged in casual, political conversation, three linguists are required.

"Kumbaya. Feeeeel the bipartisanship!"

They're merely embracing one of their own. No bipartisanship involved...

Gray Davis happily co-chairs the inaugural of the man who had him "recalled". How interesting. You don't suppose Davis is quite pleased that his "replacement" pretty much continued everything Davis would have passed anyway? With Susan Kennedy as Chief of Staff, it's almost as if Davis is still running the state by proxy.

I wonder if the Arnoldbots will be campaigning to give Arnold a third term in 2010 on the basis that his "coattails" will "deliver" the state to other Republicans? They tried to sell that baseless lie in 2003, and when it didn't happen, they pushed it again in 2006, only to once again see that Arnold only 'delivered" to the Democrats. The sad thing is the GOP voters fell for it a 2nd time.

"co-chairs, neatly divided between Republicans and Democrats"

You are just upset because your favorite, Angelides didn't win.

80% of Conservatives voted for Arnold

16% of Conservatives voted for Angelides !!!

92% of Republicans voted for Arnold

5% of Republicans voted for Angelides.

Self-described moderate voters supported Governor Schwarzenegger over challenger Phil Angelides by a double-digit margin (57% to 39%).

What this demonstrates is that a sizable fraction of the third party / "independent" types who claim to be conservatives, are indeed DICCs (Democrats in Conservative Clothing).

Data from report linked in this thread:

Poll: California voters still like the power at ballot box(immigration top issue, 60% app. gov)
