Attorneys in Kansas say 27-year-old Aron Pritchard, was punishing his girlfriend's children when he stuffed them in a clothes dryer and turned it on.
The three-year-old boy, and his two-year-old sister, were allegedly jammed into the dryer after the boy urinated in his pants.
The girl was uninjured, but the boy suffered second degree burns that went untreated for more than a week.
Ardy Wuthnow, Children's grandfather, said, "It's heartbreaking. I've seen him now, since all this has taken place and there's permanent scars."
The children's mother left their father when he returned from military service in Iraq. The biological father has fought for custody for months, the children are now in his care.
The mother's boyfriend has been charged with a felony count of child endangerment and another of aggravated endangerment of a child.
Family members said there was a history of abuse.
Wuthnow said, "We've had a lot of reports of abuse before, but nothing was done."
If found guilty, he could face 11 years in prison.
A week before the alleged incident, police arrested Pritchard for climbing on a grain elevator while intoxicated and throwing things at the police officers.
You're supposed to just put it on "Fluff" like my mom did.
He needs to be put in stocks and publicly horsewhipped.
My same response. Some people don't deserve to be considered as part of "civilized society."
That's just wrong on so many levels.
"Family members said there was a history of abuse."
Sounds like more charges need to be filed against those who knew and did nothing.
Looks like the mom is a real winner as well. Leaving her husband who was returning from military service and shacking up with this clown.
So mom was having an affair while dad was off fighting for the nation; upon his return she divorced him to hang out with the boyfriend, who subsequently stuck her kids in the dryer.
Par for the course, these days.
we had some pretty good gunplay back in the day at Ft.Campbell due to some wanderlust wifeys.
my sides hurt...
Ain't it tho? I've been working with a group that takes care of a guys dog when he goes overseas, a kind of loosely organized foster club. One guy even asked me. Could you watch my wife instead. What a shame.
Yep, that's really him.
Poster boy for white trash.
"The children's mother left their father when he returned from military service in Iraq"
Johnnies got your girl now.
This kind of evil just makes me sick to my stomach.
Par for the course, these days.
Exactly what I was thinking. I find it sad that it's not shocking me at all to find out the natural father is military and wifey left him when he got back. Some of these wives, I swear...
The good news, of course, is that the kids will now get to be with their dad, who is an American hero, instead of their mom, an American zero.
The wrong people were hung out to dry in this story.
To clarify last post...I mean the parents that neglected and abused these kids. Trying to make a pun... (ducking)
If I witnessed an event like this, the police would be the least of that perp's problems.
I was brooding over the same thoughts.
I have a 2 year old grandson.
Some piece of crap stuck him in a dryer and he'd be whistling without any teeth and his cute little goatee be ripped out by my enraged bear paw.
