German kids like their sex. A survey of European teen sex habits has found that only pubescents from Iceland are quicker to jump in the sack. But when it comes to safety, the Dutch are tops.
The casual observer in Germany might be forgiven for thinking the Germans are oversexed. Pornographic cinemas and blush-inducing sex shops are a familiar part of the urban landscape, while exposed breasts are a common sight on advertising billboards and magazine covers.
With all that stimulating material around, it's not surprising that young Germans apparently have sex on the brain. A newly-released World Health Organization (WHO) report on sexual habits among teenagers in 26 European countries reveals that German teens are quick off the mark when it comes to losing their cherry; the average age at which Germans -- both boys and girls -- first have sex is 16.2.

For the life of me, I can't understand why Californians and northeast yankee's just don't move to Europe where they have all the sexual freedom, socialized medicine, and other crap Americans don't want. I also read the report referenced, and the big drop in birthrate was of teenaged girls, which is something we WANTED to happen. Older women have increased their birthrate.
Germany has a total fertility rate of 1.3 --- i.e. guaranteed demographic collapse --- and with its median female age of 44, it can only get worse.
If you think "successful" sex-ed is something consonant with the sabotage of marital fertility and the un-making of families, nations and civilizations (which are all indicated by population implosion), fine, and welcome to it.

I think what you're underscoring is that there is a wide chasm of moral difference between the Americans and virtually every country of Europe (not to mention Canada). One need only look at the abortion, gay marriage, death penalty or, as you duly noticed, the abstinence issues and the chasm is very vast indeed. I'm sure that there are people (like yourself) there who have good values. However, in the United States, there are significant portions of the country, like the South for instance, who hold these values by a majority. That is why even after a 'big' Democratic victory in 2006, there are still huge powerhouses of Republicanism all across America. In the House, the GOP holds a substantial minority and in the Senate, the Democratic majority is so small that one senator's ill-health is making headlines.
Viewed another way, I remember viewing a Gallup Poll from a couple years ago that found that, on many issues, US DEMOCRATS were more conservative than Canadians, as a whole (Canada is much more like Europe than the US). If that's the way the Democrats are, how conservative must the rest of the country be?
Even our most liberal states like California, for instance, are conservative when compared with Europe or Canada, when it comes to issues like gay marriage, the death penalty or abstinence.
Abortion's numbers worldwide are even higher.
And there is still slave trade in the world today, and sex slaves working as prostitutes (kidnapped and held in bondage by their owners who make threats against their families, should they consider escaping) around the world including the US (where prostitution is largely illegal) and Europe (where legalized prostituion is more common).

Blacks have the highest rate of abortion. Muslims are a religion, not a race or ethnic group. You seem to see the world in terms of race, but it is much more complex and complicated than that. I have no real concern what one's color and ethnicity are. I am concerned about everyone in our country having an American identity, similar values, and a shared sense of endeavor. What we look like physically is irrelevant to me.

It is nothing new that Germany -and the rest of Europe- is in a fundamental change. If we talk about birth-rates the trend is irreversible. This will cause many problems in the future but is also a real chance since Europe is still hopelessly overpopulated.

Odd that much of the world rejects our model (at least on [paper) of a limited government and seeks to implement an all powerful government model of redistribution and controls.

Abortion is truly an evil act. But a "country" isn't evil. There are people who are opposed to and fight against abortion here and now just as there were those that fought against other evils in our nations history. And our success would come sooner if it weren't for the import of socialism.
But if there were some sort of scale of moral balance you are right in that abortion weighs America down with those horrors of Europe's past. Perhaps the newly liberated former republics of Russia will show us all the way out of darkness.
