The Mendacity Of the Liberal Press

The first time I heard the word "mendacity" was in the film "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." I loved the way Burl Ives's character spits out the word as something vile and unacceptable.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where untruthfulness is routinely accepted and even mandated by politicians, union leaders, and members of the press. New York is the headquarters of the biggest producer of mendacity, the New York Times. Fortunately, it's also the home of the antidote, Lucianne.com.

Interesting take on Drudge. I wondered why I didn't go there anymore.

Totally right on about Drudge.

I don't know what his problem is, but I never go there either, nor do I listen to his radio show any more.

He did some service back in the Monica days, but he's either gotten lazy or gone to the Dark Side.

Interesting take on Drudge. I wondered why I didn't go there anymore.

It's not just Drudge that spreads the headlines and lies from the NYTimes and other liberal enemedia.

There are far too many other publications that pick up the NYTimes as the agenda setter for the news of the day. Even right-leaning publications and web-sites pick up the same trash from the NYTimes. FreeRepublic may not be as guilty as Drudge, but FR does quote from the NYTimes often enough to give them free publicity and thousands of hits daily on their website.

Well, thank god someone is calling out the MSM in public, its rare to see this kind of article.

After all, Tony Snow apologized to David Gregory from the WH podium yesterday, after the MSM wrote some bad articles about him, criticized him on TV, and were on the attack.

So what does he do in response? Say "I'm sorry" to the enemy?

I stopped going to Drudge years upon discovering Free Republic, which was a link on his site at one time, if I am not mistaken. The main thing I liked about FR - and still do - is after someone posts an article or bit of news, everyone gets to comment on it. You get to hear different takes, opinions, and ideas, which the Washington Post and LA Times did not like. Drudge just gave you articles with no feedback.

That's how I found FreeRepublic, a link on Drudge. The link has been gone for about 7 years, Matt removed it because of some controversy. Can't remember what it was about (controversy).

I don't know. I just know that I almost always enjoy myself here on the FR! You're in Tennessee? I have been looking at a possible move to either Florida, the Carolinas, or Tennessee. Do you recommend any particular part of the state?
