Hey folks........turn OFF your TV's and you won't even KNOW about the disgraceful coverage. I do/did and except for my source of news [FR and other online sources] I wouldn't know about Sen Johnson's physical condition.

That being said. The fact that HIS seat is now in question FOR WHATEVER REASON, it only stands to reason that the import of a GOP controlled Senate or a Dim controlled Senate will be discussed.

IF it turns out a replacement needs to be named, the honorable thing to do would be to appoint a Democrat with views as close to Johnson's as possible (or perhaps appoint his wife if she's so inclined).

Two words for you - Paul Coverdell. Granted, Zell Miller wasn't terribly liberal, but he had a "D" next to his name. How long do you think the GA gov agonized over that decision? Not long, I'll bet.

I think what St Paul wrote clearly applies here:

Philippians 4:11-13
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

If the Senator recovers we can have joy for him and his family, we are abased. If he does not, we can have joy for our nation, we abound.

"A man is fighting for his life right now, and that should be much more important than how this impacts who will control the Senate."

The Democrats always give themselves away. While one of their own is literally fighting for his life, they are minimizing the value of life. This is entirely characteristic of them!!

Poor Senator Johnson...may the good Lord heal you according to His will!

We have never expected the papers to put the obituary on the the front page. Why now?

The hospital does not put the ER in the basement and the morgue at the front door. Why?

The real news of the day is that God may have placed the Senate back in our hands!

Infirmity and mortality are things we face every day, in these regards a Senator's life is no more important than anyone else's. But though leaders and servants come and go, may God preserve our nation.

Genesis 3:19
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive to the MSM bias but when I first heard this story on the Today show this morning, the way they were talking about not knowing for sure what happened to him....I got the impression they thought the Republicans had done something to him so as to regain control of the Senate. They kept saying they didn't know for sure it was a stroke or what and then they would go into talking about the balance of power. Maybe I'm the only one who read something into it...I don't know. I just kept thinking "Right wing Conspiracy"!! Yeah right.

What do you expect from the vile scum in the media?

They don't care a whit about individual people, they're rotten power cravers, period.

LOL gets used too much in the instant communication world of the internet, but I have to tell you, I actually laughed out loud for about 10 seconds, trying to stifle it at work.

That's fricken hilarious.

Poor Senator Johnson

Do you value life because of sentiment? or celebrity? or pity or because of his Creator? Is Senator Johnson's life more valuable than that our our servicemen or unborn babies, who stand little chance of benefit from the continuance of his office?

Supporting the expressed wishes of the voters is an honorable thing to do. They voted for a Democrat with a particular set of views on various issues. Should Senator Johnson come to an untimely death, the governor should do his best to choose a very similar replacement, so as not to be taking political advantage of the death to override the voters' choice.

Major Garrett on Fox, says that he was BARRED from the coffee shop at GW hospital and "I was told specifically I couldn't go in there BECAUSE I'm a reporter". Nothing is coming from the hospital...ZERO.

Tim Johnson beat John Thune in his last election by only some 500 votes. The voters of ND subsequently elected Thune over Dash-hole. Apparently the ND electorate has "grown" and that growth should be considered.

One blink means 'tax'. Two blinks means 'spend'.

Three blinks means 'surrender'.

Grow up. You know what I meant.

I've always taken indignity and sentiment for the realm of the Liberals but I should not. It is endemic in human nature. We suffer no lack of it here.

Life...is Life! It isn't up to me to make a "choice" between whose life is more or less valuable. This is all God's business. I am not equipped to make this call!

Nothing much was said about the fragil one-vote lead that gave the dems control of the Senate until now that it seems threatened.

The libs are just laying the groundwork for attacking the "R" governor to intimidate him into not appointing someone from his own party. As in, "How dare you alter the balance of the Senate by taking advantage of someone's illness!" Never mind that the Dems would do it in a heartbeat.

Agreed.
