Senator Kerry urges dialogue with Iran, Syria

U.S. Senator John Kerry, the Democratic candidate for the presidency in 2004, said on Thursday the U.S. administration should engage in dialogue with Syria and Iraq.

"I think it's important to talk and have dialogue, but you don't give up your principles and you don't make deals that are against your larger interest," Kerry told reporters after talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

"Syria needs to understand that and Iran needs to understand that, but I think it's important to begin a discussion," added Kerry, a Massachusetts senator.

Kerry, who is considering a second bid for the U.S. presidency, cited the example of late President Ronald Reagan calling the Soviet Union "the evil empire" but not hesitating to negotiate with then Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.

Kerry left the Uunited States on Wednesday for a nine-day visit of the Middle East, including Iraq, and a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but not a visit to Iran.

Fellow Democratic senator Bill Nelson of Florida met Assad in Damascus on Wednesday and said he saw an opening for dialogue with Syria.

Ok. I volunteer Kerry to fly over and talk to them. That was easy!

Well, what a surprise. He met with North Vietnam while still an reservist office in the US Navy. Does he remember how well that worked out for the South? What does Kerry think is the purpose of our government, to figure out how to surrender to the most evil people he can find? Get him off the national stage. Service members need to horse laugh him out of Iraq.

Oh please, don't let Kerry try to talk to Syria and Ira. No one can ever understand what he is trying to say in the US. Who knows how Iran and Syria would interpret his ravings.

An honest response by Kerry would be "If I had been elected President I would be messing in my pants right now."

The terrorists are fighting for the old fashioned thing called 'victory' and unless we are too, nothing else we fight for will matter.

King George's troops, General Lee, the Kaiser, Hitler, and most recently Jiap have all taught us this. It's an old lesson by now and can be ignored only at our own peril. Fighting for anything but victory is pointless and TRULY inhumane.

"Most people wouldn't call it served."

There are many North Vietnamese party officials who would heartily disagree with you, and insist that Kerry served honorably.

He should be called "knee pads" Kerry.

Heaven knows he help bring this country to its'
knees over Viet Nam. Now he's looking to do the same
thing in an even more impending situation in this
new century.

Typical liberal. Always borrowing money or "time" that
the next generation will have to pay for dearly.

Only now, that loan of "time" could come due in
his and our lifetime. We could all live to regret it....JJ61

Another brilliant idea from:

(For those who aren't boomers, that's Kerry's obvious role model, Captain "Wrongway" Peter Peachfuzz from the Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons.)

"Kerry told reporters after talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak."

1. What is Kerry doing talking to the President of Egypt?

2. Why is he criticizing US foreign policy on foreign soil?

3. It seems like Kerry doesn't know that he LOST in 2004.
