If true, this means only that we are going to compromise with absolute, unmitigated evil.
The result will be to legitimize the Communist tyranny of Kim Jong Il, and the North Korean people will continue to suffer the worst sort of deprivations and torture.

... U.S. President George W. Bush reportedly said he can meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il to sign a formal peace treaty to replace the cease-fire that ended the three-year Korean War in 1953, if the North agrees to give up its nuclear ambitions. I don't think that this is likely a correct story. Making a peace treaty with this disgusting dictator, who has done nothing but break every agreement that he has signed, would not be a shining achievement for us. He would not give up his nuclear program, no matter what paper he signed with us, and surely our State Department must realize that.
