You can bet your last Ruble that the dims will demand that he appoint a dimocrat since Johnson is a dimocrat, even though the law allows the governor to appoint whomever he desires and the dims have done the same thing in the past. But, watch. They will go absolutely ape s**t if he has to appoint and does appoint a republican. The MSM will go nuts, nuts, nuts, ballistic nuts.

Let 'em go "nuts, nuts, nuts, ballistic nuts." It'll be fun to watch their impotent rage. Plus, it'll be a nice morale pick-me-up for the Repubs.

Don't even bother to think about replacing Johnson, unless of course, he dies. As long as he can breathe on his own, the Democrats will stap him to a chair if necessary and wheel him in to the Senate like it's "Week-end at Bernie's".
I'd rather see him recover.

If I remember correctly, Gov. Rounds got like 65% of the vote in his last election. Which was a month ago! I don't think he will be worried about the people of SD revolting against him. And that would be his concern, not the NY Times.

It is much too late to be worried about that.
