EW ORLEANS (AP) -- Call it a sign of the times for Louisiana's embattled governor: A chance to dine with Gov. Kathleen Blanco fetched a winning bid of $1 at a recent fundraising auction hosted by a group of business leaders.
The president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, in northeastern Louisiana, said she called Blanco's office Tuesday to apologize for a "poor joke gone awry."

So, how much would you pay to NOT have to dine with Gov. Blank?

I can get 2 dead limbs out of the back yard and set them across the dinner table and still they (the limbs) would make more meaningful company and conversation than Go. Blankooo

I couldn't be paid to have dinner with her. I would be afraid someone might take a picture. The shame....

The president of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce should call Bobby Jindal and apologize for failing to get him elected instead of Blanco.

....said she called Blanco's office Tuesday to apologize for a "poor joke gone awry." It's a great joke that went off flawlessly, they just didn't realize who the joke was on.

Re: not supporting non-whites
Interesting point. As I recall almost all blacks voted for the white Blanco. Most north Louisiana whites voted for Jindal, who was of Indian descent. I and everyone I know voted for him.
