President Bush had breakfast with Bob Gates, who will be sworn in Monday as the new Secretary of Defense.
He met with Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi in the Oval. Also in the meeting were Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Stephen Hadley, and White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten. He participated in a video teleconference, that included Donald Rumsfeld, with combatant commanders and the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq.
At the State Department, Secretary of State Rice met with Iraq Vice President Tariq Ahmed Baker Al-Hashimi, and also met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England, Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer and Australian Secretary of Defense Brendan Nelson and held a news conference with Downer. Rice witnessed the signing of the Joint Strike Fighter Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. and Australia.
I think I have sent that photo to everyone on my e-mail list. Three people are now planning to get Beagle puppies. :)
You're quite the saleslady.
Growing up, my cousins had a beagle and it was the cutest thing but boy oh boy did it ever bark. A lot. Did yours bark much?
When I was young we had a Dachshund that was a terrific watch dog. Just didn't know when we were all "safe" and she could shut down the warning machine.
I am fine thanks - had a good evening with my friend tonight he helped me clear up the kitchen which looked like a bomb had hit it.
The family friend that gives me a lift with stuff around the house is on holiday in California at present so as well as working and looking after dad I am trying to keep the house in order as well and at present what with Christmas preparations as well I am well behind.
Hey! I totally called that in post 45!!! LOL
The < br >'s that is!

Hi Kath, hope you're having a great birthday.
I totally want to start saying I'm Orion about this!!! Its HUGH!!!
I can't blame that puppy...makes me weepy just seeing his goobery little face!
No sales involved. That pic sells itself. When I was a little girl, my male Beagle barked too much for my Dad's liking, but I doubt it was excessive...lol. Twenty or so years ago, our female was indeed a barker and howler. Wow. She was a noisy one. They make excellent children's pets. I'd love them.
We'd always own several dogs at a time. A purebred might have been a Christmas gift for one of the kids, but we mostly got our puppies from the pound, and never left the pound with just one animal. Always two or more. :)
I had a Dachshund too. Someone gave her to me when she was 3 years old. The more the merrier. She got along fabulously with the Beagle and 2 Mutts.
Happy Birthday, Kath!!!!!
Will do and post tomorrow need to get to bed now
Oh boooo...Don't leave so soon. We were all about to crank up the craziness!!! Right guys...Right?? Anyone even still here. Hahahaahaha.
I thought that was a mirror and it caught the reflection of someone holding up the wall.
I've been asleep. Now wide awake and cleaning up dinner dishes. I'll be around a while.
Good to see you...Hope you had a good dinner and nap. Congrats on winning the toaster...I've got two now too! I still need to do dishes, but am waiting to do them during the commercials between House, on Fox. :)
LOL!! That is just pitifully cute!
Welcome AmeriBrit, you will soon feel at home here. You are in friendly territory. We don't call this "Sanity Island" for nothing what with all the insanity out there.
