WASHINGTON -- Agim Ceku said that the Kosovo status solution will end the strife of Serbia and the Kosovo Serbs.
In an article the Kosovo Prime Minister wrote, published by the Washington Post today, he writes that Kosovo needs independence in order to start working on its economic potential and European integration.
“Above all, Kosovo’s final status will end the insecurity and strife of the Kosovo Serbs and Serbia. It will free Serbia of its mythological burden and open the doors for real politics and economic development.” Ceku said.
He said that Kosovo is doing everything it can to help Serbia.
“We agreed to a postponement of the final status decision after the general elections in Serbia in January. That is our way to say that we support a democratic Serbia.”
Ceku said that the region needs a European-oriented Serbia in order to make progress and so that the international community would be freed of the “burden of having to intervene.”
“Recognizing Kosovo independence will close the dark chapter of the Balkans’ history and create an opportunity for a new and sustainable regional security. This, for America and the world, represents a chance for a new and successful foreign political story.” Ceku said.

We all know what Ceku means by freeing the Serbian nation of "its mythological burden". He wishes to destroy the Kosovo ethic!!!! BRAVO!! Very well put.............and very very true. Kosovo will in fact be used as a terrorist base and jumping off point to continue operations in Presevo (East Kosovo???) and Macedonia. Except now, as "independent Kosovo" will be protected as a sovereign nation? province? automous something or other?
Ever since the "talks" stalled some months back, Albanian statements have had only one purpose: to infuriate Serbia. This one is no different. It is irrelevant what Ceku has to say because he's certainly not going to be the one deciding the status.
Each and every statement has this "concern for Serbia" feel to it and that's the thing that actually makes it so infuriating.
