I heard part of Medved's interview with Rabbi Bogomilsky today. He just made a bonehead decision by bringing his lawyer along and he now regrets it.
The real villains are the media for misquoting the rabbi and the Sea-Tac officials for overreacting.
In my town, we have a ten foot wide, 6 foot tall Menorah in the center of town at the town park. It stands at one end of the park opposite the town Christmas tree. The lighting ceromony is attended by a great many people of both religions. Never has been a problem for anyone.
SEATAC, Wash. There will be no more Christmas trees at Sea-Tac Airport this season after the Port of Seattle received at least one complaint about them.
For more than 25 years, the airport has celebrated the holidays with Christmas trees over its entrances. But overnight, the Port of Seattle ordered all 15 trees removed.
The Port allowed "holiday" decorations to remain but decided to take down all the Christmas trees after a Seattle rabbi complained they were offensive... The Port of Seattle says it had little choice. It says the Seattle rabbi with the Central Organization for Jewish Learning hired a lawyer and threatened to sue... (KOMO-TV, KING-TV)

Dear Rabbi,
As I'm sure you've realized by now, Seattle is under the control of leftist atheists who have much sympathy for the palestinians and hate Jews and Christians equally. It's unfortunate that it took this for you to realize that they would turn your request to their own ends.
Maybe now you understand that the Jewish people have far more to fear in the modern world from the left than from the right.
Attorney Harvey Grad is a Democrat donor. (newsmeat.com)
Who cares what the scumbag meant to do? Fact is, he killed the tradition at Sea Tac Airport.
"the airport offended just about everyone with their removal of the trees."
was this all a mistake or were the words remove the trees or we will sue not uttered?
now it's the airport who (which) is at fault? the authorities mis-understood the threat of a lawsuit if the trees were not removed?
just who the he** are these people and where do they get their ba&&s to be so obnoxious and then have the audacity to deny their intent?
o.k. all you christians...your christianity is offensive and you should all
go away. sarcasm off.
Wow. It's rare to see Medved so glaringly wrong. The airport only did the obvious thing and took the path of least resistance (and cost). Congratulations to Medved's lawsuit-happy, scumbag rabbi buddy.
Yeah right, an up is down and light is dark. He threatened to sue if the airport didn't either take down the trees or put up his symbol. WHAT A BIGOTED ANTI-CHRISTIAN JERK!
He threatened to sue over a menorah? Who does this guy think he is?
Thank you for your post. As you know the Rabbi and I do not I accept your explanation for this entire fiasco.
The Rabbi did make a major mistake in evoking a lawsuit however your explanation of his actions eases the sentiment I held.
As an American Jew I wish the Christmas Trees were back.
Although I do not observe or celebrate Christmas it is a joyous time for all.
I think we would be well off with less Christmas trees and more Christmas spirit. If the removal of some Christmas trees results in so much venom, I'm thinking there wasn't much Christmas spirit in our hearts to begin with.
The only solution; let him have his monorah and put in a Nativity scene for the majority!!
Mr.Medved words mean things. When the good Rabbi's lawyer threatened with a federal law suit all bets are off!
I do understand your desire to soften the impact, but the damage is already done!
Fox Radio news at 1:00 a.m. reporting that the rabbi has dropped the threat of lawsuit, and the trees will be put back. Not sure if it was the rabbi's action, or the deluge of ridicule (and my travel ban) that did the trick.
They just announced that the trees are going back up ... Hurray!
