Amen.
Medved only makes frends with Republicans?
Do you know what a direct quote is? A direct quote is, Mr. So-and-so said, "I gave them a deadline of two days before I bring in my pack of attack dog lawyers."
THAT is a direct quote. What you posted is, now discredited, hearsay.
Actually, were I the airport admin, I'd remove the trees. The airport had no other choice, because they were being asked to host a public religious ceremony. Only I'd do it at high noon after several phone calls to media.
I would too. Menorahs at the airport would suck. I'd generate all the publicity I could.
"According to misleading news stories"
This entire piece by Medved is to correct the erroneous reports that the Rabbi sought removal of the trees (which I understand the airport now admits)
It is the airport, which so uncertain of their stance to deny the Menorah, went crazy on the trees.
It would be like a landlord sued on account of discrimination, then refusing to rent to anyone or even burning down his building.
MSM news reports should not be trusted at first glance as a general rule. They will generally report stories if and only if the story furthers their left-wing agenda, and kill those that do not.
In this case, we would probably all be better off if the details of the incident were not disseminated in a typical MSM feeding frenzy. It would have been more prudent to report the story only if an actual suit had been filed.
Dude. Medved wrote this. He is a friend of a friend. You don't think that his OPINION is somewhat slanted compared to the truth??? He is nothing more than a movie critic, not an investigative reporter and certainly not unbiased.
Perhaps reputation and track record.
As Alouette has noted, Chabad has put up thousands of Menorahs. Aside from the pics she's posted, I believe they're at the Eifel Tower, the White House, and the Governor's mansion in the State of Washington.
From those many displays, will you please name those where Chabad objected to the display of a Christmas Tree.
In the absence of dozens of incidents, why should I believe you?
Lawsuits RUIN people. They ruin lives and families and communities. That's why they WORK to vent the resentments and spite of those who hire the lawyers in the first place.
The first sign of what went wrong in the article.
Bringing a lawyer to ask a favor, is like bringing a gun to ask for charity.
I'm naive, so you'll help me out.
I believe the Rabbi because of Chabad's reputation and extensive track record.

Bump.
Dude. The airport admits now that no demand was made on the trees.
The Rabbi has every right to ask for the display of a Menorah. If it is denied, the airport has the burden to state a reasonable reason as to their decision. If they will do so only if forced by a Court, that is the Rabbi's right too.
Instead they "washed their hands" of the issue of the display of religion in the public square. So unChristian of them.
This has nothing to do with the ACLU.
Exactly the opposite.
This is a request for the INCLUSION of religion in the public square.
Conservative legal foundations should be on the side of the Menorah.
"Try being a Jew 50 years ago in the U.S. or 5 minutes ago in many other countries and see who gives a * about your rights."
The only trouble my family had was circa 1563. There was a nasty event where several family members were burned at the stake in Neuva Leon for daring to keep the Sabbath.
After that, it's been OK, but we've been pretty low-key until the last 40 years.
Did I mention, I'm niggardly with my finances?
lol
Using that logic, if Walter Cronkite hadn't disseminated reports about how the Tet offensive was a military disaster for the US, and intoned "We have lost", we probably wouldn't have known anything about it.
Journalism is a sloppily-practiced profession today. We've reached the point where today we have to view news professionals like we view politicians and lawyers - with a jaundiced eye.
Sad, but true...
ca....
