"That's racist, and I agree totally."

Well, politically incorrect for sure....

But DAMN accurate description, though!

How does this complicate things? I thought crooks flocked with crooks?

This reminds me of a favorite Monty Python song:

PRESENTER:
I've got ninety thousand pounds in my pyjamas.
---> I've got forty thousand French francs in my fridge. <---
I've got lots of lovely lire.
Now the Deutschmark's getting dearer,
And my dollar bills would buy the Brooklyn Bridge.

PRESENTER and CHORUS:

There is nothing quite as wonderful as money.
There is nothing quite as beautiful as cash.
Some people say it's folly,
But I'd rather have the lolly.
With money you can make a splash.

PRESENTER:

There is nothing quite as wonderful as money.
CHORUS:
...Money, money, money, money.
PRESENTER:
There is nothing like a newly minted pound.

CHORUS:

...Money, money, money, money.
PRESENTER and CHORUS:
Everyone must hanker
For the butchness of a banker.
It's accountancy that makes the world go 'round.
CHORUS:
'Round, 'round, 'round.
PRESENTER:
You can keep your Marxist ways,
For it's only just a phase,
For it's money, money, money makes the world go 'round.
CHORUS:
...Money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, moneeeeey!

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and youre okay.
Money, its a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think Ill buy me a football team.

Thanks Pink Floyd -

Maybe we need to check Nancy's freezer for the other $10,000.

The DNC. The party of corruption. Oops - wait. Isn't that what the DNC said about the GOP?

If he were a Conservative the media would have already convicted him and he would have resigned. But he is a Democrat so there is NO crime if you are a pig faced Nazi Democrat.

No it wont. 95% of the media will never report the story, and you dont think the republicans will start shouting "culture of corruption" do you? They are too busy running to the "center". F##ing pansies

The lingering Jefferson and Mollohan cases may increase pressure for creation of an independent Office of Public Integrity to investigate lawmakers' behavior.

This absolutely frosts me. It's a Lieberman pet project. The taxpayer is supposed to pay for yet another scheme to keep these guys honest. But who will fund this "independent" outfit??? The crooks they are supposed to "investigate." How in the world can we stop stuff like this?

Oh, and I hope Pelosi's headaches are major migraine level.

Has anyone read or heard in the DBM anything related to this?... NO That's what I thought.

THAT is precisely the reason the election of a criminal will NOT complicate things for Pelosi.

After all, the nation elected a criminal as president in '96, didn't they?

Rep. Jefferson loses Democratic caucus vote, June 16, 2006

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- With members of the Congressional Black Caucus crying double standard, House Democrats met behind closed doors Thursday and voted to strip Rep. William Jefferson of his seat on the Ways and Means Committee.

The move was led by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, who already had asked Jefferson to step down voluntarily, a request her embattled counterpart rebuffed.

"This isn't about proof in a court of law. This is about an ethical standard," Pelosi said in a brief statement after the vote. "I wish that the White House would take our lead on this."

I called "Sound Off" this morning in the Mobile Press Register and this is what I said: "I see where another politician up to his neck in scandle was reelected yesterday. Oh wait, Congressman William Jefferson has a D after his name. If it had been an R, his name would have been in the news day after day ad nauseum. Then he would have had to resign and been run out of DC on a rail! Now tell me again which party is the party of corruption?" We'll see if it gets printed! Was I surprised those idiots in New Orleans reelected him? Not in this lifetime!

Sept. 13, 2005 — "Amid the chaos and confusion that engulfed New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina struck, a congressman used National Guard troops to check on his property and rescue his personal belongings — even while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops, ABC News has learned."

And lets not forget he also did this.
