The Holocaust is now a subject of serious debate, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday.
Iran has invited scholars from 30 countries to attend a conference starting on Monday about the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were killed by the Nazis.
``For 60 years talking about the Holocaust was a crime in the West but now there is a serious debate about the Holocaust in the media and also in political and popular meetings,'' state television quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
Ahmadinejad sparked an international outcry by referring to the Holocaust as a ``myth'' and saying Israel should be relocated to Europe or North America.
``Even some Western politicians have declared that the original foundation of the Zionist regime (Israel) was a mistake,'' he said on Saturday.
Ahmadinejad has said his questioning of the Holocaust is aimed at encouraging scholarly debate and an examination of the reasons behind the creation of the state of Israel.
Deputy Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mohammadi has said the Holocaust conference will look at issues such as ``whether the gas chambers were actually used by the Nazis.''

As long as the Iranians mix in copious amounts of Bush-bashing to their whitewash of the Holocaust, the NYT will eagerly hang onto every word they say.
I suppose if the Germans didnt kill 6 million Jews, the rumor that Stalin killed 10 million Russians is a hoax too?

One of the few times I ever saw him cry was when he spoke of the children in those camps.

What possibly can be debated about the Holocaust that already has not been debated, researched or documented ???
To admit there is something more to be debated is to admit the current information is tainted or propaganda.
The only thing that needs debating about the Holocaust is whether or not it will be used as a propaganda tool to influence dupes and anti semitics

Stalin killed well over 10 million. Heck he killed 10 million in 1933 just in the Ukraine. However, that you'll never see in the New York Slimes. (But you knew that)

Yeah, sure.... We couldn't even mention the Holocaust, or we'd be shot. I remember that, too.
How can Ahmadinejhad deny the Holocaust when<---If he has his way here will be another one.
There is no doubt in this mind that if Iran gets the Nuclar bomb he will use it on Israel and send his men in to kill anyone who isnt dead already. He has as much as said it.
Let's hold an international conference to vote on whether or not islam is a religion of peace.
