People should mind their own business.

here here...how on earth can we tell "certain" women they can't have a child. They're not allowed to have a child...of all the God given rights bestowed upon a woman, that's a biggie.

This is as about much ado about nothing as it can be. Of course, the left will spin it wildly, along with some from the far right, to make noise.

It's not like Mary Cheney is the first nor the last lesbian to become pregnant.

If her father wasn't Dick Cheney, vice-president to George W. Bush, it wouldn't even merit the back page.

Yes, they should. I know a single woman who adopted a child and with the help of a loving, extended family did a beautiful job of raising her. I know gays who were married and had children and "learned" late in life they were gay and left.

As long as people are loving and caring parents it's no one's business.

I think it is of vital national interest to know if she used a turkey baster, rent-a-stud, or some new-fangled technology using vaccum pumps and cryogenics. Meanwhile, posse comitatus was essentially repealed last month by the Republican Congress (with Bush's signature) and nobody seems to care a whiff. We're doomed.

True. So, why is this a big media story? When the other daughter was expecting her 5th child, was there a press release about it? If not, why not? Lesbians having babies isn't some new thing. Making the fact public is what is new. Slowly, society has been "introduced" to the gay lifestyle. TV showcases gay couples. Trading Spaces, House Hunters, Birth Day, etc. The "Gay" lobby has been working hard for years to get us to this point. The condemnation of homosexuals is a thing of the past. Those that still oppose it are tagged as intolerant beasts. We're now an enlightened society. And Mary Cheney having a baby is a perfectly normal event. No more or less important than her sister having a baby. In a few more years, gay marriage will be normal, also. I think there will always be those who oppose it. But, they'll be a small minority.

'People should mind their own business."
Fully second your opinion. This Janice Shaw Crouse obviously has more free time than she knows what to do with, or how to use productively. Maybe somebody should [it is a gift season, after all] give her some computer games, and teach her how to play them.

I wonder, if we had a VP by the name of Robert Schwartz, would we still be reading about a lesbian female named Mary Cheney?

Sure, we could mind our own business if things like this were not thrown in our face constantly . . . and imho, for the reason of setting an agenda, or forwarding a cause.

..Mary’s pregnancy is an “in-your-face” action countering the Bush Administration’s pro-family, pro-marriage and pro-life policies. She continues to repudiate the work to which her father has devoted his life. Mary has repeatedly said that “studies” show that children only need a loving home. Her statement is incomplete because the experts agree that for the well-being of children, they desperately need a married father and a mother....

Yes, I agree with the article. I am changing my mind about one thing... Maybe.. we "redstaters" are as stupid as they think we are. There is not doubt in my mind that Mary Chaney has been tapped on the shoulder by the HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA people. Not dumb, they realize how valuable she is to "adavance/sell" their ideology given her position as the ADVISE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. daughter!!!.. and she, no doubt will use her child, to advance the homosexual agenda as well. It's really a simple tactic.. Children, shamelessly will be used to advance their ideology... and "good quality children" (like one of this freak), will be a valuable tool in future fights.

I am sorry for her parents.

"People should mind their own business."

Just as Mary Cheney has a right to do what she is doing, and the responsibility to face whatever consequences might ensue, we have the right, and the responsibility, to judge her actions and act accordingly.

As Rush Limbaugh has so eloquently stated, I am through with carrying water for Republicans who do not act like Republicans.

Seems to me that when people make their sexual deviations political (demanding legal recognition, favored tax status, benefits, licencing, perks and public endorsement) publish provocative books and interviews and then hit the talk shows and the lecture circuit, they're quite deliberately and strategically making it "everybody's business."

It used to be that all the homosexuals asked for was the privacy of the bedroom. Sigh. Those were the good old days.
