Israel will defend itself. The problem is that the USA has now been castrated and will do nothing to help Israel.
I have been conservative for many years and many of the members of my syngagoue are also. We aren't all upperwest side libs who think that just because a "few Jews are being killed" it is meaningless. Now, that group is disgraceful! I wish they would stop identifying themselves as such.
In my synagogue in Queens many of the members are Republican and the rabbi is the one who opposed gay marriage and quit the group that supported it. Also, the woman who tutored my son for his bar mitzvah is a staunch conservative pro life woman. At my job, some of the people are closet Republicans (register Democrat but vote Republican). Unfortunately, we are surrounded by the self-haters who for some reason choose to identify themselves as Jewish when they are Jews in Name Only - if that much. Unfortunately, some of the older crowd still identifies conservatism with Charles Lindbergh and Father Coughlin, figures that died years ago and they still cling to that belief. The true anti-Semites are in the radical wing of the Democratic party which has taken over. Some of these people - including my fellow Jews - would either shrug or actually be happy if Israel were destroyed. They are ain deep, deep denial about their own safety. Nobody likes a turncoat - they are the first ones the Islamofascists will kill.

I am reading this a couple of days late; but I agree with you juliej--I am a former liberal and I now vote completely conservative republican and I know of other Jews who have left the Dems after 9/11. I get so sick of people blaming us for how the Jews in name only vote. Their religion is liberalism, not Judaism, and they identify as liberals before they identify as Jews.

You are 100% correct - there is nothing "Jewish" about them.
Actually this might be a better name for some of them rather than 'Muslims'... They are pesky predators that sting and collapse when swatted. Of course Patrick Leahey is going to insure that we don't 'swat' them any longer. He believes that they have a right to kill thousands of Americans, and if they survive the attack we can catch them, haul them into court and try them... then keep them in humanitarian country-club jails until we have to ransom them to get our children back.

Please. There are many American Jews who do not support the American left or any other left for that matter so I would appreciate not being lumped in with the leftwing/appeaser crowd!

My point is that the US Jews seem to want to keep Israel safe, but continue to elect appeasers, like Jimma Carter.
I don't think they want to keep Israel safe - did this group or their parents fight to save their relatives in Europe during the war? Did they protest against FDR for turning boats back?????? do they subscribe to the New York Crimes?
