Delivering his farewell address today, Sen. Mark Dayton said he was leaving Capitol Hill "with strong feelings of frustration and disappointment," but he thanked his colleagues and the people of Minnesota for giving him the chance to serve six years in the Senate.
"I have been unable to pass most of what I believed was most important to Minnesota, to our country and to the world," Dayton, D-Minn., said in his final speech on the Senate floor. "I remain convinced that those policies would improve the lives of most Americans far better than what the Majority here enacted."
He lamented the loss of national unity and quoted the Bible at one point.
Your six years as Senator were spent engaged in quirky and downright weird behavior that alienated fellow members of the Senate.
Had you not decided to retire, there's a strong chance your own party would have replaced you.
Your 2000 race was vacuous - much like the race your successor (Amy Klobuchar) ran in last month. There's a strong chance your successor will be every bit as far to the Left as you were, with your penchant for light-weight legislating and mental meandering.
At the very least, we won't have to be embarrassed at you closing your congressional offices because of the fear of a very unsubstantiated terror attack against DC>
Please go away, Senator Dayton. And stay away.
Mega Dittos. Worst Senator in Minnesota History.

"with strong feelings of frustration and disappointment"
Well, now you know how WE felt for six miserable years.
"Sen. Mark Dayton said he was leaving Capitol Hill 'with strong feelings of frustration and disappointment',".
Yeah, just like the six years worth of frustration & disappointment I've had with him as one of my Senators. Thank God he didn't do more damage to America.
Good riddance!
"I have been unable to pass most of what I believed was most important to Minnesota, to our country and to the world,"
Something like "Republican Senator Admits Failure".
I wish that he had sought reelection, as Mark Kennedy would have polled stronger than his poor showing against Amy Kobluchar.

Dayton leaves Senate disappointed
--
It's mutual, I'm sure, Mr. Dayton.
So were many of us native, mInnesotans,,
disappointed, that is, that you were ever elected.
How could you leave out Lincoln Chafee, who was the winner by a mile?
Dayton is gone??? I missed that in the horrible election just passed. My my my - a reason to do a happy dance!!!!
"I have been unable to pass most of what I believed was most important to Minnesota, to our country and to the world," Dayton, D-Minn., said in his final speech on the Senate floor.
And the downside is.....?
Senator Dayton,
The reason you feel disappointed is that, deep down inside, you know that you didn't properly serve the people of Minnesota. Being a liberal loser doesn't give you a good feeling of accomplishment, because you know you're not right and not doing right, either.
Too bad you couldn't have figured that out six years ago.
Hey Mark! Don't leave disappointed, just leave!
