Oh FGS, we are going to have an Iraq "support group."

Please don't tell me you're surprised that a global AA meeting was proposed to solve Iraq's problems? Look at the commission--it's a group of people that have spent their lives in meetings, so what do you suppose they're going to propose to solve any problem? Right--more meetings!!

You're right, of course. We'll become just like the UN. Nice thought, huh!

We should let the Iraqis kill themselves. If they attack even ONE embassy, bomb them with planes. It would still be cheaper than stationing troops there.

"I heard that too but I didn't know the Golan Heights were ours to give away?"

Someone should call the NYTimes and ask them if we really need to give away the Golan Heights/s.

It is starting to feel like the Carter Years!

I agree about the embed. What I can see coming from that are some graining snuff videos made to shock America.

"I am going to grow vegetables instead of just flowers,
My wife and I were talking about that just last night, given the state of affairs.

Be sure to buy heirloom seeds - they will produce viable seeds for the next season and are much hardier."

I had a similar thought. We also need to think about moving to the mountains and increasing our personal firepower.

Yes, I agree. It is very easy for people in Washington, DC to propose extremely dangerous ideas that look sensible to them.

There is no "one last push" that could succeed against a decentralized, underground enemy.

There is no stronghold of force to overcome. This is more of a political problem than a military one.

I don't know about you...but May 3, 2003 ring a bell? Who's brilliant idea was that? Yes, had the banner been true - but it wasn't then, and it certainly isn't now.

From that point on, only a lukewarm effort was made to paint an accurate picture of Iraq came from the administration. Only excuses and "I have faith in my generals". I know quite a few people who have served in Iraq, and there is FAR more progress that has been made that has received ZERO press or attention, and hasn't even been highlited by the administration.

The entire WOT has been conducted in such a "civilized" manner (I am holding back puke trying to actually type that...) trying to be PC, and allowing direct treason to go on in the press and in the open.

My only second guessing in the WOT has been if we have given it all we could, or if we have fought such a limited war that we have not stopped anything.

I can't wait to see what the libs think and say when women are required to wear burkhas in public and we all live under Islamic law...

Let's just see the ACLU tell the ruling Islmist regime in the US that public prayer is not allowed, nor are those loud calls to prayer ever few hours... because the libs are pushing to allow the Islamic terrorists to take over the world. The one bit of gratification I could squeeze out of such a case - the liberals would be crying themselves to sleep because they would get exactly what they asked for.

These are people who only respect one thing, power.

We have been weak and they do not respect us. Limp wristed politics have got us here.

It is now time to take the gloves off.

Resolution 16 tells the enemy that they can get land from Israel if they attack Americans.

The old fools are playing with fire.

Is anyone on the panel under 80?

Excellent point! They all know they'll be long dead by the time this comes back to bite us. God help us.

Norton, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Your ideas on the "sticks" we could apply to Syria and Iran (open season on the borders, reminding all concerned that we have nuclear weapons) are just not realistic to the political situation. Engaging Syria and Iran on both borders would be a major change in policy that would have been possible three years ago, but today would raise howls of protest from Democrats. Our President is giving ground, and is as weaker than he has ever been. Weak Presidents don't threaten nuclear holocaust on our enemies. Even strong Presidents have a hard time with that.

Refusing to link the WOT and Palestine might be tough, but frankly I don't know how much progress we would make on that score. Refusing to link the two might even make it more difficult for us to guarantee Israeli security with troops, should it come to that.

The partition of Iraq is an unattractive option. It eventually may come to that though, whether we like it or not. No one can know which way this war will go once we end offensive combat operations.
