Live on cable now...
Well, you ain't going to get Syria's cooperation, if that is what your after, without a return of the Golan Heights. So they are consistant there.
Thanks for the info. I'm at a loss to his reasoning for Baker doing it in the first place. Have we been played for suckers by Bush? Rhetorical question, no need to answer.
Well, it's official: the world has turned upside down.
For the first time in as long as I can remember, I actually agree with Pat Buchanan: we cannot leave "small numbers" of troops in Iraq. They will become targets immediately.
IMO, it's all or nothing.
It isn't there.
I think I will go get my wheels aligned, I may have to make a break for the North Carolina back country.
I could not find anything wrong with that statement. I doubt the media took it very well...LOL...
Anyhoo.....the reactions I see on this thread appear to be reactions to what the Dem's and media are saying and how they perceive the report. They built this up for weeks as a repudiation of bush policy, but it actually, with only one major exception, confirms the policy so far, and the so called new stuff has either been implemented, is undergoing implementation, or has been tested and is under review by the generals.
When you stand back and look at it, there is nothing new at all, except for the first of the 79 recommendations, and the panel knows this. They just put the current thinking from the pentagon on paper, added some crap for the liberals and put it out there as recommendations.
Bush can use this to firm up public and international support for the war, but he will have to eat a bit of pride, which he does all the time anyway, quite willingly. He will claim to have accepted the bulk of the recommendations, and the public will perceive a change in policy.
But there really was no change, and the Bush policies will have more support as a result.
I think this was all intentional.
Any time is the right time to pick up a new friend.
Well, that's an interesting "rope-a-dope" take on this whole thing.
I'm not sure I'm buying it, but I'd be quite happy if this plays out as you think it will.
I need some comfort food after reading that.
Wow. Bibi Netanyahu is right. Israel is going to disappear because everyone is going to leave.
This is really make-or-break time in the Middle East. If this is seriously the political climate in Washington - volunteer the conquered land of a third-party nation to appease a bunch of terrorists - Israel may as well implement the Samson option, because they apparently no longer have a friend in the United States.
Do what!!!!! I am not freaking believing what these blowhards have suggested. They just want to cut, run, put us in between another conflict. My son served twice in Bosnia and they were told the most they would be there would be 5 years.
Your link at 627 is a good read...they are more hopeful than I am.
We have in reality been witnessing a slow-motion coup in progress for several years. However, a citizenry whose attention span maxes-out at 30-second sound bites and is cognitively incapable of logically connecting the dots represented by the events unfolding before them, simply cannot grasp reality.

*Sigh*
You are so right.
When you are in a gale wind, you don't try to take it on frontally, you tack your boat at a angle to the wind, and let the wind defeat it's self.
Can I ride with you? Maybe we can think of a new hobby for ourselves...........LOL.
