I agree. IMO, I see signs of the (end) times. There is no longer a grey area, it's either black or white. The media, the left, most liberals/democrats are the enemy of what is right for this country. It's really sad and scary, but I have to believe God has a plan.

Welcome to what some of us on FR have been saying for sometime, only to be ridiculed and scoffed at.

Scarborough is now saying that seeing those men up on that stage filled him with a great sense of pride.

Well-said. No one learns from history, apparently.

"The report is little more than a attempt to bring consensus, and should not be viewed as anything more."

The first step to a new order is to create chaos. Let's see who comes out on top of the heap. :)~

The price for this kind of delusion is another 3,000-plus Americans dead in another 9/11-like terrorist attack. Frankly, some in this nation deserve another hit.

It's going to be a hell of a lot more the 3,000 that die because of this stupidity thinking

Pray for Pres. Bush and this country

I am .. more then ever

I don't believe that the President had anything to do with this committee

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Baker

In late 2003 he (James Baker) was drafted by the President to assist in the operations of the US-led occupation of Iraq. He is also a special envoy to the president to persuade other countries to relieve Iraqi debts.

On January 5, 2006, he participated in a meeting at the White House of former Secretaries of Defense and State to discuss United States foreign policy with Bush administration officials.

On March 15, 2006, Congress announced the formation of the Iraq Study Group, of which he is the Republican co-chair along with Lee Hamilton.

On September 13, 2006, a news report suggested that Baker is quietly involved with advising President George W. Bush on Iraq. On October 8th, the Washington Post reported that Baker is "the Republican co-chairman of a bipartisan commission tasked by Congress with assessing U.S. options in Iraq," and quoted him as saying "our commission believes that there are alternatives between the stated alternatives, the ones that are out there in the political debate, of 'stay the course' and 'cut and run.'"

The only thing I want to hear from President Bush is that we're going to use massive force to kill terrorists....or, we're bringing our troops home. This is no longer worth one more soldiers life. The press and politicians are using them to "get" Bush.

Are they going to send Kerry to Paris to negotiate the cut'n'run?

From Day One, this whole study group has inspired me to acute nausea as I knew it would come out just like this. And the media is on it like it's a Revelation from the Mount.

How many of us are letting the WH know that we trust President Bush to lead us through Iraq? If not many, then we are letting the WH that we prefer the media and study groups to lead.

I've read most of the comments but only saw part of the dog and pony show;
but I lean to CH's interpretation as well as Mol's:

1. We've been screwed since the Pubbies blew the election.
2. The report does not seem all that offensive with the exception of its implied threat to Israel.
3. And, you can rely on the MSM to spin it as a defeat for the president.

Improved/increased training and indoctrination for Iraqis at all levels and in all functions seems a no brainer - its their country & we don't want to be manning check points into the next decade.
'Diplomacy' toward Syria and Iran should, in my version, concentrate on the many reasons they'd be better off not interfering.
Return of the Golan Heights should NOT be a part of those reasons but it has been on the burner since Hizbola added it to their list during the last dust up. [I expect that any such references are based on the predilections of panel members and not on any 'Iraqi Studies' they took part in.]

Yes, the war in Iraq is over, yes, it has been a low casualty operation, and yes, the administration failed miserably in maintaining public support / the MSM and Dems have acted according to what their old timers learned from Vietnam.

What I sense is that the Dems will now put on their soft and cuddly face, change some rhetoric, and 'stay the course' while the media campaigns for them on how things got all better after they hauled in congress.

snip page 57 of the report
RECOMMENDATION 16: In exchange for these actions and in the context of a full and secure peace agreement, the Israelis should return the Golan Heights, with a U.S. security guarantee for Israel that could include an international force on the border, including U.S. troops if requested by both parties.
Like the line in Zorba the Greek, "...the full catastophe..."

So am I, STAR. And we need to let the WH know this by email. He certainly won't know it by the media.

Of course he is proud.

It has been a brilliant political campaign against this President, his entire Administration, and his policies for the WOT.

Which is all that really matters, who wins in DC has the power to win in the world.

To bad the Rightwing constituency doesn't have that same goal, or know who their enemies are.

" Bush understands it, and will use it appropriately as a political tool, "

I don't think President Bush ( rightly or wrongly ) uses his office for political power.
I think his MO is to do what he believes is best for the country, not to advance a political agenda.
If President Bush had been more political in maintaining his case for the Iraq war, perhaps he could have blunted the influence of the media and Democrats in turning the public against him.
