N Korea 'refusing to restart' nuke talks

From correspondents in Moscow

December 06, 2006

SIX-way talks on North Korea cannot restart this year or in the foreseeable future because of "unacceptable" US conditions, Russia's Interfax news agency quoted a North Korean diplomatic source as saying today.

"The demands the United States put forward at consultations between the heads of delegations to the six-way talks ... which took place in Beijing on November 28 and 29, are unacceptable for North Korea," the agency quoted the source as saying.

"As a result, the renewal of the negotiation process in December 2006 is impossible, and – if there is no change in the United States' position – in the foreseeable future too."

6-party talk is now effectively dead.

I expect Condi to work out her facial muscles again, and bark some undimplomatic words, and make another whirlwind tour of E. Asia, reaffirming the great solidarity among nations involved. Not! And we are all left to haplessly watch when N. Kroean regime is going to kick the bucket.

Overeducated "scholars" will write long essays on how complicated the problem is. Since they have nothing to offer, they will have more seminars and urge more talks.

There are a lot of people who could do the world a great service by ingesting lethal amount of polonium 210.

The End of History? The Golden Age? Ha! Many trees are wasted to print such hot air.

There's another thread here about Iran making its daily noise. My comment there is the same here. It's way past time we just start bombing North Korea into the stone age.

LIke I said: Talk, stop talking, blame US, agree to talk, talk, stop talking, blame US, agree to talk, talk, stop talking, blame US, agree to talk, talk, stop talking, blame US (where we are now)....

Sound familiar? The Iranians are using the same process, and the effing State Dept still hasn't figured that out.

Well why not... since Nov 7th literally everything we worked for in the WoT is being reversed now that "the people" voted they just don't want to see all this ugliness on the TV each night.

The world got A LOT more dangerous Nov 7th. Not just because the dems got in power, but becuase they just ran on "I'm sick of all this, make it go away" and the message that sent.

It was a very real 'hard count' confirming Osama and NutJob's belief that even though capable, the left and media in our country can squash any resolve to continue a fight.

It will quite literally take another 9/11 before 65% of Americans take the whole thing seriously... which just amazes me.

Too late for talking.

I wholeheartedly agree, but policy appears to be, to my regret and to the regret of those who will die, America will wait for a mushroom in / on this nation before picking up to do further battle. Lord, I hope and pray I'm wrong.

The problem is... you have to be more advanced than the stone age in order for "bombing them into the stone age" to work.

The North Korean rhetoric is tired and old and so is Iran's war wagging tongue!

The State Department is feckless and full of left wing "Can't we all just get along", types.

It is absolutely STUNNING how our nation has take GIANT leaps BACKWARDS since George Bush's AXIS OF EVIL speech.

He had them pegged right then and almost 5 years later all we are doing is "Talking about Talking about Talking".......instead of doing what must be done to EVIL.

Vanquish it!

It's probably worse than that, its gonna take another 911 every few years to keep our country even close to being vigilant. The old media cant self destruct fast enough for me.
Further complicating the N.Korea problem is South Korea.
They are wimping out, refusing to defend themselves, and are just becoming bigger and bigger targets for an "I have nothing to lose" N. Korea.

We should send in Carter immediately, revoke his power to negotiate and cancel his return to the US permanently. This is the opportunity we have been looking for.

One small vial of Ebola on the North Korean side of the fence and this whole ordeal ends in two weeks.
