Is this 'global warming' or perhaps the Earth repositioning itself and tipping slightly on its axis? I don't think the scientists have considered the latter possibility. It would cause interesting climatic changes.

Cripes, they are only talking about a couple days, as if a 5-day stretch is any evidence of global warming! WTF?

I don't want to get into the global warming debate here, but wasn't Winter 2005-06 one of the coldest in Northern Europe in the last century? Observations on the first five days of one month in one year in one small part of the globe (as this article provides) don't give us much of a basis for a confident inference about the issue. In other words, the article is essentially worthless to either proponents or opponents of the global warming hypothesis.

Since the distance from central Sweden to southern Sweden is 600 miles - that Beatles song better be at least 10 hours long! And that's at 60 mph the entire trip.

This is pretty funny if you really think about it. I mean, we are only talking about five days here!!

Meanwhile, next door, Norway has been snow bound since October. Yet another not-global-warming-non-story.

What happened to the MWP, did they wish it away?

The axis moves in a cone-shaped pattern, called a precession, with the celestial North Pole describing a full circle every 26,000 years or so.

During this precession, the planet's tilt remains at 23.5 degrees.

The Earth's precession alters the time of the annual vernal and autumnal equinoxes, making them arrive earlier each year.

Making a statement about the change in December ignores the fact that the calender isn't adjusted to make it fully useful when talking about climate changes.

MWP

It was removed for the 2001 global warming propagandafest (I forget what they called it) by a bunch of politically motivated statisticians.
